I went into the Beaconsfield branch of Halifax today and was told by staff there that they were told yesterday of an increased cash offer if you apply for a Reward Current Account IN BRANCH ONLY up until Monday 27 September, you will get £100 paid into your account after you successfully switch your banking from another bank. Also get £5 a month if you pay in £1000+ a month. This is a more straightforward way of getting the £100 than applying online for the £50 plus £50 additional cashback from topcashback. As detailed in other posts they have a very good credit card for use abroad too. Goodbye Nationwide!!!

Remember not to use your overdraft on this account

3.5 Months with them and they still cant get my address correct! I am glad I just use them to get the extra £5 a month and not as my everyday bank.

So unfair - I will never benefit from any of these banking deals - don't earn enough to deposit £1000 per month. I call it discrimination :-(

"Goodbye Nationwide!!!" ???????

Has anyone noticed that there is a £12.50 per month maintenance fee on the Halifax account? You net profit ia (minus) - £90!

Isn't the £12.50 fee only on the Ultimate Reward Account?

This is the plain old Reward account

I think you're right

Beware of Halifax overdraft charges...many customers left last year when they began a £1 per day fee for overdrafts regardless of the amount (doesn't sound much, but if your account is overdrawn by £10 for 2 weeks in the month, you get charged £14)...there are better current accounts around with similar switching incentives...
