Found 7th Nov 2011
Just visited my new Asda store in Swinton and they had reduced all their halloween stuff to 2p included,

Napkins
10pk of balloons
bunting
witches hats
childrens vampire cloaks
witches broom

I managed to get some of all the above and was lots left.

i asked whether store specific and they said no as they were told to clear stock.

Yeah cus i want to dress up as a pumpkin during the rest of the year...

Our son had to dress up last week as a mummy. It was straight after Halloween so I thought great lots of reduced items.

Our local Asda had nothing and said they had already shifted most of it.

So no point me looking!

Great for OP though so heat added.

great

as an asda shop floor assistant , i know that we are not aloud to sell products when they go to 2p , so i have no idea why this store has been aloud to .

for example when christmas gets reduced to 2p it all has to be wasted and bind

Original Poster

why not???

and don't remember actualy remember quoting anything pumpkin:)

I was in Parkhead store on Saturday and they were giving all their Halloween stuff away. Staff Said they are not allowed to sell it and if people didnt help themselves then it would be chucked in the skip!!

If they can't sell it for 2p, why reduce it to that? Why not make it 3p!

Because they can sell it, I work for ASDA currently, the other poster is wrong. Everything can be sold even if it is 2p, it's only thrown out if it is out of date or damaged.

A company can sell a product at whatever price it likes providing it isnt being anti- competitive, and in this case it isn't, it is just selling off stock cheaply that is out of season.

I work at asda and I've never heard such nonsense about not being allowed to sell something at 2p
& btw it's 'allowed' not 'aloud'

and 'binned' not bind ;o)
