Halo 4 Pre-order @ Tesco Direct Using code

Found 5th Nov 2012
Just noticed tesco have dropped the price of halo 4 to £35, using the code TD-KMPW making it £30. Doubt you'll get it for release date, still a good price

Heat added ordered, one xmas pressy sorted!

Think this is the cheapest around, so hot from me. Will wait though as won't play until Xmas so may be cheaper by then.

i ordered a couple of weeks ago at the higher price, how does the preorder price promise that they offer work?

I was thinking that, should work, but not to sure if it will work if you used a voucher

Tempted but with the price of this dropping quite a bit already, I might just wait a little longer.

Amazing price for a game like this on release though!

You'll only get money off if the actual price drops. You won't get anything if using a voucher drops the price.

Yes, it is a good price (although that's subjective), for a newly released game but I'm wondering about those who are ordering this as an intended Christmas present. The game is released tomorrow, is it likely to hold it's price right through to Christmas? I would have thought it could well be lower nearer the time. Seems strange that Microsoft didn't delay release for a month, it would have hit the market just as the Christmas buying frenzy would be kicking in. I'm no Marketing Manager but that seems a more logical release time to maximise sales of a game?

thanks

How do promotional discounts work with the Pre-order Price Promise?

Promotional discounts are promotions that automatically apply to your basket or are money-off e-coupons that you use during online checkout. These are only applied against the price of your pre-order product to calculate the discounted price at the point of placing your online order. We do not reapply these promotions to your pre-order product price if the price happens to be lower on the release date.

For example:

If your pre-order product is £40 and at the online checkout you use a £5 off e-coupon, you will pay £35 for the pre-order product at the point of order. If the price on the release date is £36, you will benefit from the fact that you have already paid the lower price of £35 when you pre-ordered. The £5 off e-coupon will not be applied to the lower release date price.

Just be aware that very have a nasty habit of charging full price if they didn't send you the code personally.
I used a code on here once and months later they sent me an email saying that I had used a code that had not been offered to me and they had charged me another £60 on my purchase to remove the discount straight from my bank. This made it higher than normal rrp. They wait a while so you can't cancel your order and return the item - a sort of legal scam.

I Pre-ordered this when price was higher. Do I need to call Tesco Customer Services get my £3 refund?

That's a concern. It's illegal for them to take money from your account without your permission. I assume they must have something in the Ts&Cs to cover this?

Pretty sure it's done automatically.

Thanks Matty18. Will keep checking my account.

Here's the ts and cs - very customers may find themselves paying a lot more than they thought:

2.3 Promotional codes are codes that enable customers to obtain benefits such as discounts, free delivery and free gifts. These codes are non-transferable so may only be used by the person to whom they are issued and must only be used in accordance with their terms and conditions of use. If you use a promotional code to claim a promotional benefit, you must first check that it was issued to you and that you are eligible to use it. By using it to claim a promotional benefit you will be confirming that:-

you are entitled to use the code;
you meet all the conditions that apply to its use;
you agree to the terms set out below.
If, before accepting your order, we find that you are not entitled to use the code or do not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reject your order or alternatively process it without the promotional benefit being applied. If, after accepting your order, we find that you were not entitled to use the code or did not meet all the terms and conditions of its use, we may reverse the benefit that you obtained. If you transacted on a cash basis e.g. by debit or credit card, we may take a further payment, equivalent to the value of the benefit obtained, from the card used. If you transacted on a credit basis, the value of the benefit obtained may be charged to your credit account.

i pre ordered with tesco and it states in their price promise that you will get the game for the price it is on the release date, it credits any difference to your payment card automatically on the day after release, so you shouldnt have to contact them

Anyone know if Tesco/Asda/Sainsbury's doing their usual price war in-store?

Note that the pre-order bonus you get from Tesco can be sold on eBay for £10+.

I sold mine for £15.99, effectively getting the game for ~£15

How do you seell this - is there some sort of redemption code supplied with the game?

Thanks
Simon

Just clear the £20.95 balance and cancel your account with them, I've no need for their account apart from the game, so doubt they'll take money from an account that doesn't exist

Thanks, ordered. Had to sign up as another family member as I had previously used the code for BLOPS2.

Will now look to selling the pre-order bonus.

Great Price, I'm convinced, Ordered, Thanks OP

Great price. But I've been banned from buying any games until after Christmas
Would recommend people to avoid Very also as they charged me full price despite using a code. Was lucky enough to return it and get a full refund though

When you purchase using vouchers from Very you authorise them to take the whole amount, but they only take what you owe after the voucher comes off.

If later they decide you're not allowed to use the voucher (as per the terms quoted above), they charge you the rest. Which they are allowed to do, as the voucher is invalid as per the terms and conditions, and you've already authorised the deduction from your account.

So, if in doubt, don't. Safest way, unless you personally received the code. And Very tend to be very hot on this (but only after they've shipped), to make sure you purchase from them.

Ordered, cheers op. Around £28.80 after quidco and cc points.

Ordered hot.
