Halagen is a bit outdated these days. Needed to be supplied with next gen LED lamp.

Voted hot.
Sure you could replace the Halogen with an LED, but can you find one that is as bright without a major jump in price?
I was looking for an LED but went with this in the end.

I wonder how big the power brick is? Could be a good / cheap light for inside wardrobes; cheaper than IKEA's equivalent.

Shame there's no stores inside Zone 1-2 in London

Got 2 thanks, and fitted with some spare led GU10 bulbs I had. Comes with 2 metre mains cable, no transformer as GU10 is 240v.

Was after something like this, the wife bought me one today and they are for the price .

Will put a led bulb in it .

CAUTION: you might not be able to replace with an LED lamp as these tend to be a lot longer.

Modern ones don't. Some of the cheaper LED clusters were but that was a while back.

A pair of these would be perfect for use with a cheapo light tent from amazon/ebay, to photograph items you want to sell on ebay. Tent on table, lamps clamped to sides of table. The halogens might get a bit hot with prolonged us, in which case switch to led.

Modern ones certainly do. You have to be very careful what you choose.

Perfect for Turtle!

Take it from me as someone who knows about these things; modern LED GU10 match the same dimensions as an halogen GU10. Some of the cheap far east ones made from LED clusters do not, but nowadays most do.

Lamps that are longer can be a problem in fittings such as showerlights that have glass fronts. But in this application there is no glass in front of the lamp so it shouldn't be a problem even with an old style LED cluster lamp.

I've got an LED torch that I bought from China. It uses Cree smd 5050 leds and these are ultra bright. It just blows standard bulbs and leds away.

I am going to replace all my GU10's.

That is my point - you have to check. A lot of listings do not tell you their length.

It might work, but that doesn't mean it might not look ghastly and therefore be a problem. And unless you count the 3x1W-type lamps as "cluster lamps" then it is not just "cluster lamps" that can be longer than the halogen equivalent, as I know from experience.

^^^ You are making a bit of a meal of this pipbob. It's a four quid light, most people that will change it from halogen to LED will have their wits about them and it is only one cheap lamp. It's not like they will be ordering 20 for their kitchen or something.

I got one of these last time lidl had them, it was pretty good until the bulb went a couple of months ago and I haven't bothered to replace it yet. Thinking about getting an LED bulb for it

I'm making a meal out of it? No more than you! I would be disappointed if I bought an LED lamp for this and it stuck out in an ugly fashion. I was just recommending people to be careful!

Eh, looks like you were a bit OTT with your original comment.

Every Lidl helps...
