was £9 Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint is specially formulated to perform as a primer, undercoat and topcoat. Should be applied directly to rust and will stop it from recurring. Solvent based paint. WARNING FLAMMABLE. Harmful to aquatic organisms. Keep out of reach children. Always read instructions. Coverage up to 1.25 square metre. A FEW COLOURS AVAILABLE

Hammerite is garbage since they changed the ingredients... Had to repaint 30 Victorian cast iron columns because of this stuff.
Good price but no good for outdoors/wet conditions...

I've been using the aldi hammerite style direct to metal paint recently and I've been very impressed with it. The only problem is it takes a while to cure fully. I painted a vice in the winter though so this likely contributed.

Depends on what metal. I have used Rustoleum with good results. I have also used an Etching Primer if using on bare metals.

The only problem is it takes a while to cure fully. I painted a vice in the winter though so this likely contributed.


The only problem every time I see it they only have white available.

That's annoying, I have the the dark green. I'll confess I've been struggling to see any since I last purchased some.
