I'm sorry OP - having bought from VP before I would try my best to help people not buy from them - I've not voted either way though.

Why? I just had an entire on suite from them and it was excellent

I am really unhappy with the quality of the product and the post sales parts availability. - I bought Wenge effect cabinets / back to wall toilet and basin unit - all have ruined through water ingress (Clearly I was not expecting this with a bathroom product) also I couldn't get a replacement toilet seat from them as they didn't sell one, but the toilet (and therefore the seat) doesn't appear to be sold elsewhere, so now I have a best guess fit / shape toilet seat fitted.
Considering the amount of money I spent...very very poor quality imo.
I really do hope though that yours works and lasts to your expectation

I'd rather go for convenience, with a mixer, than get the 'classic feel'.

I think two separate taps are more convenient and versatile though the handles on this particular pair are out of proportion and ugly.

In my simple mind, I am saving water having a mixer?

No, because you can make use of the cold that runs out of the hot tap before it begins to run to temperature!
