Reviews are always mixed with steam cleaners. I got at work Vax steam cleaner from argos which costs 50 quid and it's a crap for me personally but some people say that it's wonderful.
For 13.99 it's worth a risk imo

Ordered cheers, heat added...

are steam cleaners any good? They look awesome on promo videos, but I've learned my lesson not to trust them. oO

my mum bought one off tv and although it was good on the floor and mirrors, it didn't do half the things in the advert. saying that she paid over £100 for it so a cheaper one for the floors would be good

Got this, it's pretty poor.
Don't expect it to be able to do any of the things like you see it doing on tv.
I just use it to (poorly) clean car parts/engines now.

I had the Earlex wallpaper stripper with all the attachments for carpets, years ago. It worked very well at getting the stains (and wallpaper) off but I had to keep changing the towel on the carpet attachment as it got dirty only a few minutes into cleaning the carpet. Shows what a slovenly house I keep!

I ordered this to clean the chicken coop as steam works really well at killing any red mite that lurk in the nooks and crannies, but will be using it on my oven as well

Any chance this will help clean that spot(s, errr) on the carpet that the cat threw up on and was cleaned twice, but could look better...?

I bought this exact model, I think it's pretty good. I keep finding more and more uses for it: Well worth it for £13.99 I reckon!

It made cleaning the microwave (that hadn't been cleaned for a long time!) effortless, the cloth attachment is great for cleaning soap scum from the shower, the oven that once was filthy is now spotless, it quickly defrosted the freezer with the steam, and it removed burnt on stains from the halogen hob I couldn't have removed by hand.

Just a word of warning, ensure you leave it to cool down before trying to remove the cap to refill; otherwise it de-pressurises and sprays scalding water everywhere.

I love the defrosting freezer idea! Thanks for the feedback. I'll let you all know how it works on the hen house!

I bought one of these and was disappointed with it. For example, didn't make one iota of difference on tile grout.

Then somebody bought me a VAX one as a Xmas present and it is just as useless - certainly doesn't do what they claim it does. Then again when you watch some of the ads they show them steaming tile grout, but hardly hang around long enough to show you it making much difference.

Use it to give the loo a clean hoping that the claims re killing germs are accurate, but who knows. I certainly wouldn't waste any money on buying a replacement when this one breaks down.

Some people love them, some people hate them, for me they are a waste of money.

I have the same model as this, but bought from my local cheap shop.. its really good.. Nothing amazing, but what do people expect.. Its steam..

Last christmas I knocked a candle onto the carpet and spilled wax everywhere.. The steam cleaner made light work of it and 'blew' the wax straight off.. It paid for itself 10x over right there

But I also use it when I get spots on the carpet.. Just a dab of carpet cleaner and then I blast it with steam.. Spot disappears.

I am really happy with mine.. For £14, you cant go wrong.

easiest way to defrost a freezer is to use a hairdryer

do you put an electric hair dryer into an environment with water dripping everywhere... !!!! (and before you say it yes i know hair is wet)
i would have an ambulance on speed dial if i were you

£14.99 in my local Home Bargains..... Different box but exactly the same steam cleaner

And most expensive with the amount of electricity you'd consume:-)

These are ****, got one and it's a waste of time

Buy 3 of these, put them in your wardrobe, you've got yourself a sauna/steamroom for £42 and removes the creases from all your hanging clothes too!! (_;)

I agree,
I bought this a while ago and I use it a lot now. Everything from leather sofas to wooden benches, it is very good at cleaning off grime/stains. I have two mucky golden retrievers, so having something which means I don't have to scrub for hours is good in my book.

As above, make sure you release the pressure before refilling, you can do this by taking the plug out the wall and holding the trigger until all the pressure has gone.

Dropped another 14p :-)

Can this be used to effectively steam clothes? Would save having to get my wedding dress steamed at the dry cleaners the day before our wedding..

Thanks... I was looking for one of these the other day....Great...

completely useless product. it just makes things wet and dirty instead of just dirty

Ordered in hope that it will clean grout! Fingers crossed.

Thank you I'm sure that your review/opinion will help a few people more than reviews from Amazon.
I think it's always worth a try for that price.

Just thrown one of the big Quest steam cleaners bought from a well known auction site into a skip - third time used it began leaking steam into the handle, hot and dangerous! Replaced it with a properly made Karcher which I should have bought in the first place. In common with a lot of hand held steam cleaners the one posted looks like something sourced from Alibaba at $8 to $10 per unit and stamped with a dodgy brand name. Might be worth buying to see if you get along with steam cleaners, otherwise put the money towards a better quality one.

any good a cleaning alloy wheels?

Just bought the very same one from Amazon. Brilliant piece of kit, just remember not to overfill the tank or else you'll get water and steam together. Really powerful steam jet. Went mad last night and cleaned the kitchen benches, the cooker, the cooker hood, the dogs corner and blasted a few marks off the carpet - and im a bloke !!. Loads of acccesories including an extension hose, window sqeegee etc. Its actually really solid and well made with a brass screw on connector top for the tank and twist and turn bayonet type add ons - and all for £13.99. Total bargain. Have some heat.

I find leaving a fan blowing at the open freezer works well as it blows the cold air out. Needless to say it may not work so well with chest freezers.

used one of these before to get some grease off an oven top, absolutely useless. didn't budge it one bit. also didn't clean any dirt out of tile grout. they're overhyped and a waste of money. I'd avoid

Bought a similar item!!
Never again!
Waste of money

I have a karcher hand one and it's pretty good
