People still using this crap and thinking it will help? Isn't anywhere …People still using this crap and thinking it will help? Isn't anywhere near as effective as soap and water.

People know that but many scenarios where people have to go out, and unfortunately can’t take there sink and soap with them so this is a pretty good alternative until they get to somewhere with a sink and soap.

The fact I had to say that makes me feel sad.

I keep it in the car, for after I have been shopping or had to go out for some other reason. Sanitiser isn't intended to be a substitute for soap and water, but washing your hands in the field is usually not practical. And it will become more important after the lockdown ends, because we will still need to practice much greater hygiene away from home for a year or two.

Unfortunately, you cant wash the inside of accident damaged vehicles with soap and water., so a good wipe with this is as good as it gets. Its what we have been told to use by the fire brigade. Good price that the last lot we had.

A stop gap between washing your hands when you're not near soap and water. But this is overpriced.

I just got 600ml of Cuticura Total for about £8.85.
How is sanitiser "nowhere near as effective" as soap and water?

They both get rid of/kill the virus (in different ways from what I understand) so surely they are equally effective?

Or am I missing something?

You are aware covid 19 is a "virus" so not necessarily killed by antibacterial cleaners? Bleach, chlorine and possibly disinfectant.

Thanks, but that expired deal was roughly the same value for money as this one, if you don't have Amazon Prime for free delivery. At the current time I can't find a better deal than ESE that isn't expired, out of stock, only for NHS purchasers or possibly available at a distant bricks and mortar store. So I'm confident that I made the right decision in the circumstances.

I don't have Amazon prime. I had to buy something else bringing the total over £20 so free delivery. The expired deal is direct from manufacturer. It was back today, but stock sells fast.

The fact that disposable gloves are more effective and cheaper and easier to find than santiser says a lot too.

If you wanna destroy your hands with santiser that's fine.

Because the alcohol part in santiser will only last on your skin for 90 seconds tops which isn't enough time to clear the bacteria at room temperature or outside where as washing your hands where the water in averages in taps is 45 degrees plus which is beyond the ideal breeding ground for germs.

And santiser not soap will "kill" the virus as viruses don't work that way. Hence the flu which is a virus the motto of catch it trap it and bin it.

Yes you are boring me. Clearly you have too much time on your hands.

You stick to trying to belittle people.

Here's hoping you stay safe with your santiser

No one said that. But people have different situations where this can be of assistance.
