In stock at ebuyer. Out of stock at Amazon but can be back-ordered at this price.
Previous best price was £186.21 - credit to HUKD member daudiam for finding that one, posted here.

Specs are good, don't think there are other 27" 1440p IPS screens out there unless it's £100 more.
Big bezels compared to the swanky new ones but then this has a VESA mount and is much cheaper.

Specs
  • 2560 x 1440 WQHD Resolution
  • IPS Technology: 178° Viewing Angle
  • 10,000,000:1 Active Contrast Ratio
  • 2 x HDMI / DisplayPort / Mini DisplayPort
  • Built in Speakers

Has it got the kettle lead or is it permenantly wired?

Mine had the kettle lead which came loose and blew the boards...

I have this monitor as well, I got it back when they had the £10 promo a few weeks ago. Apart from the speakers being pretty crap, it's great. Even at it's normal price this is a bargain.

I don't recall seeing a monitor with a fixed lead and wouldn't want to.

A bit of black insulating tape around the connection beefs it up a bit and will give you a nice tight fit into the monitor. Should prevent it coming loose again.
I have bought a fw Hannsg monitors over the years. They are great value and reliable monitors.

My current one is a 2k one which is a great compromise over 4k. 4k will require a more powerful graphics card and as a result alos powersupply. I can get great 2k resolution without my 1050ti struggling on anything and with the existing powersupply.

Heat from me, very tempting!
Wont touch Hanns-G, had one fail after 2/3 years and after seeing similar reports its put me off them.

They also join Acer in the list of brands that i refuse to buy.

You sound like my mate. All he did was bang on about how good scan have been to him. He bought another pc from them pre-built. It's been a month now and he still doesn't have a working pc. It arrived DOA. They sent an engineer to replace PSU, still dead. Now getting sent back to them to diagnose.

He now says he will never buy from them again. This is after saying for the past 3 years he would never buy a pc from anywhere else as they are that good.

1 mistake and people dump a brand these days unless it's named apple.

I know right, no issues with it, the colour is still crisp and vibrant and not one dead pixel, and it is rarely off a whole day, and the only thing wrong with it is the small power button came off last year so i can't switch it off or on, just from the mains switch now.....of course now that i have invoked sods law it won't switch on tomorrow. lol

I will never buy from Scan ever ever again, after reading your post.
Scan use all the returned parts and use them for things like overclocking bundles, or barebones. Their testing process for returns isn't very rigorous, so it's hit and miss what you get. I've experienced it myself years ago, and semi-recently I know somebody who had to purchase another GTX 980Ti (back when they were new) because he was without a GPU and scan were taking so long with the return. He couldn't register it with nvidia to return it himself, because it had already been registered elsewhere? It was indeed very strange. But yeah, only good until something goes wrong. Be careful.

Also got this monitor, definitely recommend
Hanns G are reliable from my experience. I have been installing them across our estate, probably done 300 to 400 over the last 2 years and never had a report of back lights failing.
Also installed a raft of LG 42" TV screens around the same time and the back lights are failing like dominoes just after 18 months.
I know pc monitors and tv monitors aren't quite the same but the back light tech is similar.
Wouldn't invest in anything LG for display purposes based on my experience but they do make awesome washing machines

After enough time, you get to realise they're all pretty sketchy at times. Need to know how to complain and where to take it when things don't go right.
Scan, Ebuyer, OcUK, Novatech... I've heard horror stories about them all.
Yet to hear one about Aria (out of others I can think up straight away) but... can only be time
