i would buy it
Good reviews though sound quality seems its weakness. Heated
The Hannspree SE40LMNB is cheap for a 40-inch model and has some neat features, including USB recording. However, although it performs reasonably well with HD movies, standard-definition TV shows tend to look rough and ready. So it's not quite the bargain it first appears. imo
What are people's opinion of Hannspree? Good quality? Worth the cash? Or are they just looking to make a quick sale, with rubbish gear?

It's a good price
solid

Well they do make very decent and reasonably priced monitors, but whether their TVs are of the same quality, I don't know oO
I owned one a few years back and it was perfectly reasonable and certainly good value.
Ive had a Hannspree 42in plasma for a couple of years and found it to be great for a decent standard tv. If you are super critical about sound/visual quality then you may be better off paying £700+ for a different brand.
Great price imo. Good deal
Is it a German make ?
LOUGHBORO GUY

Is it a German make ?

Taiwan, I believe
But since its a DirectTV's deal, i would avoid it. Remember the gamble they played on the christmas eve holding our money for few days before refunding and not delivering what we ordered for
Got this tv about 6 months ago from amazon warehouse for just over £200 for my parents. Fantastic set for watching blu-ray movies and hd tv. Only problem is that some freesat channels which are of a lower bitrate and are standard definition tend to look a bit poor, not crazily bad, just not great. For example though the standard definition bbc channels all look great, so it just tends to be the ones without coresponding hd channels.
They have bumped the price up. It is now 269.98. Not so hot anymore. Everyone write to them to say. I certainly did.
£330 now, so ICE COLD.
