I bough a Hannspree 19" monitor about 5 1/2 years ago & i've never felt the need to replace it. At the time it was way superior to anything else near or even way above the price I paid.

Had Hanns G monitors for years, perfectly good. I'd have this for my PC, but I would probably get lynched.

Go on....show em who's the boss

I use one of these as a computer monitor (with DVI to HD lead). The 1900x1200 screen is less letter-box like, so better for computing than many dedicated widescreen monitors. And of course you can watch TV on it too.

This TV is £229.99 on EBuyers own website, so your saving £50 buying it through ebay from the SAME supplier. Fantastic reviews. Looks a steal at this price.

USB input would make the deal fantastic, but this is still red hot!

At this price you still have money left over to buy a dvd player with usb. Luckily I've got a brand new one in the loft. I didn't need it, but it was a bargain. I didn't need this TV either, but at £179 what can you do?

this is hooooot!! i bought the 25 for £150 which has been taxed by my older brother!! dat was an awesome tv...this look good to

ahhh another person who has fallen for the oldest contrast trick in the book:P

The 25" version is amazing value for money. Don't forget go via TCB for "40% cashback" (not really that much and they're misleading for saying it).

You've obviously never seen a hannspree close up. Many would agree the picture is as good as if not better. £60 is an extra 33.3% & if you read the listing, it says find a COMPITABLE tv for this price. It is full hd, with 3 hdmi ports (a lot of tv's don't) & freeview. If I paid an extra £60 on top of the LG or Samsung, I would get a better TV again....& if I paid another £60 on top of that.....& so on & so on. The Samsung is a better TV than LG as the LG suffers with black colours (appear grey), but I doubt you would get one of this spec for £60 more. EVEN if you do, it's still not comparable. This is a VERY good tv for THIS price the LG is a good tv, but not worth £60 more.
Do the Samsung & the LG come with a 2 year warranty, which is not a RTB but a collect & return ???? oO

I did not tell anybody how to vote. All I ask is that when someone votes cold they should educate themself and us before doing so. Find out if it is a poor deal & if there is a better one let us know because we will buy that one instead. Like the person that voted cold on the Argos washing machine yesterday because it was £180 at Tesco. It actually turned out to be £269.99 at Tesco
Seen any cheap milk lately ?

hannspreee are awesome!! this like a all singing and dancing tv!!! connected my x box, ps3, laptop, pc and the freeview TV!!

You could buy a connecting lead, media player or dvd with usb. Still a cheap set up.

Probably a silly question, but it doesn't mention EPG anywhere. I guess all freeview TVs have EPG?

HOT!!! I think you could also use this as a monitor. I've got a 28" Hanns.G monitor (same make just their computer monitor branch) and it's really good. I'm sure you could use this as a monitor with the benefit of an inbuilt TV.

I had the 25" hooked up as a PC monitor worked like a gem

The people that are saying this is a good quality tv don't know a lot about tv's..........

I have the 25" one for my kids room and it is great for £150 and has lots of good features but the quality of the picture is very low you have to be sitting directly in front of it at eye level if not the picture is horrible. As you move round the room the picture gets a lot darker and a lot lighter depending on where you sit and contrast ratio is horrible.

If you want a good cheap tv pay the extra £50 and go for toshiba or lg or samsung.
But if you want a cheap tv for bed room or what ever go for this.

Hot - should make a good monitor, although I am not sure it is a great TV.

I was tempted with the ST281 last year for 220 - but this is much better.

Neither do you if you recommend a Toshiba. Every TV I had going back years was a Toshiba & they were far superior to anything else on the market, even Sony. They now struggle against most TV's in the same price bracket. They are nowhere near as good as a Samsung. The £204 Tosh the other day was a good deal as it was cheap. There a lot of more expensive tv's that suffer from the problems you mention. If the tv is low down it will look worse. I agree this tv can be better with a change to the factory settings, but at £179 it's the same price as bobby basic smaller tv's & old hd 'ready' tv's. A lot of tv's in this bracket do not have 3 hdmi ports.

I have seen 1000s of hdtvs but the hanspree is the only one where the brightness changes dramatically just by moving your head an inch to the side it definitely is a very bottom of the market television.

Its a great price for the tv but it is a horrible tv and I don't see why you are trying to bully every one in to your way of thinking.

I bought a Samsung 32" Full HD LED Backlit tv for £159 and it had a 5 year warranty, so i dont no WTF ur on about!!! (_;)

Just to add some pics so people no what they are getting with this tv.
This first pic is straight on and it is the best angle to see the tv from but even looking straight on the pixels in the corners are very dark.
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss219/imginy/DSC02269.jpg

This second pic is to show how white the screen go's if your head gets a little higher.
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss219/imginy/DSC02268.jpg

This final pic is to show how dark the tv gets when you go a little lower the whole top is completely dark
http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss219/imginy/DSC02270.jpg

All pics taken in same room with same lights and no flash.

16:10 aspect ratio eh?

so does it vertically stretch widescreen programming that's 16:9 to 16:10 (therefore actually slightly distorting the vertical image)?

My 22" LG is 16:10 and viewing Tv can look a bit odd, circles appear oval, people are taller and thinner than they should be.

Some 16:10's letterbox a smidge to preserve the correct ratio.

Adjust you tv to;
Brightness 50 - Contrast 50 - Colour 25 - Flesh Tone Off - Backlight 85 - Sharpness 0 - Colour temperature Normal or Warm
If that doesn't work i'd send it back. Hannspree customer service are excellent & very customer focused.
