excellent price hot from me

Great. Thanks

No RCA output for audi
that means if you want to connect it to a set of speakers you'll have to rely on the 3.5mm headphones jack!

Is this a TV or a monitor? How does it stack up against a monitor such as this Novatech one for instance?

Its a TV but I suspect the actual panel used is the same as that one as they are the same size, resolution and both made by the same manufacturer.

Really? Well I'm using it as a monitor right now and for the money it's unbeatable. It's 1920x 1200 resolution as a monitor and looks great. As a telly, because of the odd 16:10 format, you get a black bar at the top and bottom of a standard widescreen film which means the picture is equivalent to just under 27 inches. You only get the full 28 inch when using as a monitor.

Just watched Coraline on it and the quality is superb.

There are a couple of niggles, well there would be at this price...right?
The vertical viewing angle is not brilliant, you'll get a poor picture if you view it from just below the screen, but then does anyone watch that way?
Also there is a noticeable lighter area which gets darker as you go further up the screen. You only see this if the screen is very dark and watching films you don't notice it (unless the whole scene is very dark).

You pays your money and takes yer choice!
At this price there's no other TV/monitor at this size that can compete.

I work in Europe quite a bit this looks ideal as the Analogue tuner is compatible with Secam - voted hot - thanks

Anyone using it as a monitor offer any feedback on using it at different resolutions for games? (e.g. 1680x1050 - my graphics card not good enough!)

Well in general using lcd diplays at anything other than their native resolution is never a good idea. At 1680x1050 the text lacks sharpness but it is perfectly useable. It depends what you want it for. If you're writing word docs or editing html it might get tiring. The vids still look great though and i would expect games to be good too.

I'd say upgrade your video card at the same time.

I want one as a moinitor, 32" is too big really this looks ideal for the money.

To those asking about a monitor, I think it would be ideal as a monitor as it has a 16:10 ratio which indicates the panel used is designed for use in a monitor. TV's are 16:9

amazon.co.uk/pro…s=1

Read the reviews.

The general concensus seems to be "don't use this as a computer monitor".

You will have to make up your own mind though.

I can’t see the attraction to use as a monitor when you can get a Dell 23” IPS 1080P TFT with a fully adjustable stand for about £250 delivered.
Sure it’s smaller but the quality and proper stand put it in a completely different class.
Voted hot for a TV though.

Personally I wouldn't use anything at a resolution lower than 1920x1200 as a monitor at 28" and larger. Unless you have a huge desk or can site quite a few feet away from the screen.

Maybe, but the technical data says "PC input 1280x1024". So I wonder whether it even supports native resolution? Without it would be completely useless.

Also the reviews for using it as a TV are pretty dire. It is probably a cheap panel driven by substandard electronics. So please proceed with extreme prejudice...

anyone who uses a tv as a monitor is a right chump. the specs of TV's just arent designed to double up a monitor -but if you can't tell the difference i suggest you go ahead as monitor tech is obviously wasted on you.

Nellster, you may not like it as a monitor, but others may.
I use a 22" HD TV as my main computer monitor with no probs at all and before you call me a chump, no im not and have worked in the Audio Visual business for many years and know a thing or two about TV's.

THis tv seems to have great reviews on Amazon even at a higher price. I cant find any negative comments re using it as a monitor. I am assuming people are talking responce times and blacks ?

I have a 24" ben Q monitor at the moment its only 3 years old and its not great I have had it repalced once already and the one off switch has broken on it again I fancy the bigger size tbh.

Equipped with between 2 HDMI ports

Exactly how many is that then?

unheard of brand, spend another £20 and get a Sony:p:p

LOL! You do realise it has the same panel (thats the screen) as the Hanns-G 28" monitor? All they have done is chucked on a tv tuner. No TV panel is 1920 x 1200.

audiO the O seems to have fallen somewhere....
By the way, many reviews suggest the Video output quality is ******* with skin tone turned to orange, Linky
