Not very good for the warranty. Unit died after 15 month on a 2 or 3 year warranty, about 2 years ago. Gave me the run around, and in the end just binned the TV.

Same here, its behind the sofa though havent binned it yet!! Would never buy Hannspree again

thought the £10 off was only for tvs £300 an over

i have had an hannspree 37inch for over 3 years and have never had a problem with it.

Its cheap but the Tosh 37" 1080p with Freeeview hd for £320 was better. Branded set bigger screen plus freeview hhd boxes are still around £100.

and britain...a nation well known for its label snobbery.....

For those going on about warranty issues why are you bothering trying to deal with Hannspree? Go back to where you got it from a warranty does not affect your statutory rights and use the sale of goods act get the store to replace/repair it, this is their problem NOT yours

how true.

I've had a 32" Xv-S for 3+ years aswell and not had any problems with it.

For those that have this TV, 2 questions:
do you know the remote control code for it? (So that I can use a universal remote control with it)
And also, Has anybody got the audio out line to work when using HDMI as mine only works when in 'TV mode'. Thanks

Had my Hannspree several years now and several people have bought one after seeing mine and no problems ever . They are LG LCD screens just in different clothing . Almost every LCD panel is LG or Samsung .

Hannspree are one of the few independent producers of LCD screens in the world and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them - far from it in fact. I went to their San Francisco store and it was something akin to Bang & Olufsen here. Except not rebadged Philips or whatever.

Both are meaningless - unless they're quoting a defined standard like ANSI they can just make up any number they like.

Am using the xbox 360 remote, didn't work though. Thanks anyway.

This is a good tv for those on a budget, ive had a Hanspree set for over 2 years and no probs with it at all, the only concern i had weith this one as i ordered one for a friend, is that the connections are awkward to get to with the wall mount he purchased. Good deal though, he paid more than this for his..

Rubbish.

Retailer is responsible for warranty claims for at least 12 months.

I've contested that sort of thing previously with a retailer and even taken legal advice on it. A retailer only has a to give an exchange or refund within "a reasonable amount of time", which for some retailers can be as little as 24 - 48 hours depending on good will. The fact is a lot of retailers now offer 30 day exchange and returns, but that's not because they have to.

Past the good will gesture period then it can be challenged in a court, but if the retailer can demonstrate that they've been as reasonable as possible it might be tricky.

He was talking about the SOGA (Sales of Goods Act). After the first 6 months the onus is on the consumer and not the retailer to show that there is something wrong and why, so he was wrong and also it would be nice if you could now retract your comment because the only one talking rubbish was you.

anyway...back to the thread.
anyone have the 28"? good price at £215ish. seems to get good reviews....

Why take the risk when you can get a Toshiba 32" Regza from Richersounds for £249 dabs. I picked one up over the weekend. Awesome screen. There are only a couple left.

You're lucky to get one as it's only available in 5 of their stores, and 4 of those are south of Watford.

Question: How can I set up my universal remote control with my Hannspree products?
Answer: Hannspree is a separate manufacturer of LCD TVs and has its own unique set of remote frequencies and command codes. We have not yet found another brand that uses similar enough codes to be able to use instead of our own.

Your universal remote should have a list of manufacturers that came with it. Each remote company assigns its own 5 to 6 digit codes. If your remote doesn't have us listed, you will not be able to use your remote with our TV unless you have a learning remote.

For DirecTV customers: DirecTV does include Hannspree remote codes in some of their remotes. Their Big Button Remote does have us listed under 11348, 11351 and 11352. However, these codes may not work for Hannspree Xv Series.
