i disagree, it was recorded in a cheap studio and has a real raw edge to it that makes it sound different to the usual pop rubbish that is over produced. imho

What happened to this lot? I remember the singer looked liked a werewolf.

it's not real raw edge and it doesn't sound the same when they play live the three times I've seen them - it's distorted and sounds **** - although i will agree that a lot of modern albums are over produced and the content rubbish but this is a great collections of songs and deserves so much better

very good album and a hot deal

Gah, I paid a whole £2 at HMV when they had their sale on a while back!

If you haven't already got this album, this is a no brainer.

Buy now!

Hate to nitpick, but the deal really needs to be amended as it's NOT sold by Amazon but by a third party seller through Amazon!

'Sold by Amore DVD and Fulfilled by Amazon.'

Basically this means that the item is despatched from an Amazon Fulfilment Centre. It's still sold by a third party. Amazon have nothing to do with where item is sourced from, item condition etc.

superb this

made me dig out my old copy from the cupboard so thanks!

voted hot

Not a bad price although horrible music (personal opinion so still voting hot)

Good album but its 2011 comeon.

Yeah, of course, an album from 2005 is just soooo outdated. Best burn my Pink Floyd, Beatles, Kraftwerk, Bob Dylan etc CDs and replace them with Taio Cruz and Tinchy Stryder.

God what has our culture become when this is lauded as a 'great' album. A mediocre celebration of mediocrity. People don't seem to want music to take them anywhere anymore, instead plumping for something they can 'relate to' because it helps them bolster their ego and shield them from the crushing reality of their dull lives. Which is fair enough, whatever stops you slitting your wrists I suppose, I'd better label this album majestic lest the mask slip.

Seen this on here soooo many times....seems to me they can't give this carp away

Great Album at the time.
Great live at the time.
Followed it up with an absolute stinker and disappeared without trace.
Good price though.

Oh hail the music critique, I didn't know there was a set of rules on how to listen to and how/why you should like the music.... please explain more...

Do you write for the NME? I was opinion like this that forced me to stop reading that magazine many years ago.

Come on, lighten up - its just an album and its less than £2.

Oh, and I'd love to see what you think is "cool" to listen to.

I never said there was. Why, is there a set of rules on why I shouldn't dislike a piece of music? Or should we discard all our critical faculties, take a happy pill and bop away to the Vengaboys on repeat for the rest of our lives? After all, it's music, and therefore all good, you can't complain. I hear they like to party.

No, do you think they'd have me? Maybe I'll go sit outside their office with a bit of cardboard proclaiming "Will psuedo-intellectualise for food". I stopped reading it way back when it stopped being about music and became about what that mentally unwell fellow from the Vines was doing each week. I hear they got bored and switched focus to a nice local boy instead but I digress.

I voted hot by the way, I never said that it isn't worth £1.52, just that it's not worth shouting about.

Amongst others I regularly listen to such greats as Pink Floyd, Beatles, Kraftwerk, Bob Dylan etc. Although I wouldn't dream of contrasting these old white men against young black artists, that might get misconstrued

Now £1.99, although still a cracking deal - I guess this thread has now expired.

Expiry reported......

Many thanks
