This is an amazing bottle of wine. £4 is a bargain!

Given that even Waitrose have this (now) at £4.99, the claim that this is a £9.99 wine is, as usual with Tesco, difficult to swallow.

It may well be worth £4, but it certainly isn't worth £9.99.

It's been well documented that Tesco and all supermarkets grossly inflate their wine prices (especially the new world wines) in order to masquerade an offer like this. This is not a £9.99 bottle of wine. Maybe £6 would be nearer its true worth, so £4 is still good - but shocking tactics by the supermarkets. I'm amazed that they've been allowed to get away with it for so long.

Yeah, it's not the fact that they advertise it as being a price cut from £9.99 - as it's been this for ages at full price in many shops, and if it's been that price before the offer then so be it. Its more to do with the fact it is continually on offer in every shop, which devalues the wine IMO.

But for £4 a bottle it's a lovely wine, it's not usually as cheap as £4 even discounted, and I will need to stock up. :santa:

For gawd's sake, this is always down to £3.99 because that's what it's worth!..

Get yourselves a proper Shiraz...the Penfolds Bin 28 is still half price a case at Tesco.com. £2 a bottle more than this, but an infinitely better bottle of wine!..

..and bizarrely, the Penfolds offer was voted cold

Well...I have to disagree to an extent - not for any minute saying the Hardy's wine is worth £9.99 a bottle - but for £4 it is a decent bottle of wine IMO. Usually it's only discounted by up to half price which isn't as low as £4.

I'm no expert in wine tasting (so you may be correct about the other wine 'tasting' better) - but £4 a bottle brings it down to a reasonable price for many to have a glass or two after work.

This is ok for 4 quid. But not as good as the Wolf Blass yellow label Cabernet Sauvignon (Red) and the Wolf Blass Yellow label Chardonnay at £3.99 in Morrisons....You never see those below £7

Yeah it is a good offer too - plenty of good offers to stock up for over Christmas. Just enjoy the £4 wines while they are here IMO. :santa:

If you're after a sub-four quid bottle, ASDA have got Hardys Nottage Hill Cabernet Shiraz in their 3 for £10 offer this week. The Morrisons Wolfblass offer is good too.
