Harman Kardon Soundsticks III @ Amazon - £103

These are the *NEW* SoundSticks III. A bargain considering they're going for £145 at Apple and the old SS II are still selling for £110 on Amazon and even more elsewhere. They're consistently named as one of the best speakers and they're even featured in the Museum of Modern Arts in NYC for their striking design (which I believe was conceptually created by Apple, making them a great match for any Mac).

OP, you are a legend! These are simply awesome speakers; been thinking about the SS II's for a while, and now that these are cheaper I'll get them instead. Many thanks.

If you prefer function over form, then get some m-audio av40 powered monitors for the same price, but likely better soundstage rendering.

I've had the soundstick 2's for 5 or 6 years...still sounding awesome...funny story was that I ordered them from Amazon and a huge box arrived? When I opened it up some daft person from Amazon had sent 4 x soundsticks in 1 big box! So naturally, I kept them and sold to my mates

i heard this at my friend's house and wasn't impressed. i thought they look great but the speakers are way to small to produce a warm sound which is for me personally the sound i prefer.

As long as you are within £4 of petrol and parking charges of a richer sounds store.

not sure of the quality but boy do they look sexy

cold though as cheaper at richer sounds

I have these and the sound is just about ok, I wouldn't buy them again. The speakers have come apart and are now held together with elastic bands & the drivers have needed clipped back together a few times. To be honest they are rubbish & I regret buying them!

A good alternative would be to the Q Acoustics 2010i Speakers. They need an amp however a 25w amp will be more than capable.

The M-Audio AV40s are currently £22 more at Amazon (not the cheapest they've been), though I agree they're probably a better choice if you want an accurate sound - and less of a dust trap!

Had the Soundstick II's for 2 years now and they've been great just use them occasionally to play music from my Laptop at my desk and they sound fine to me

You are right, a week ago they were £105, so have gone up a bit.

I had some great pc sepakers then a few months ago but was getting fed up. So took a load of crap from my garage + a some old Wii/PS3 games and part exchanged them in a local second hand store for a NAD340 amp, and a pair of Mission 783 speakers.

A mini phono to twin phone line out from the PC to the amp and i have imho an AMAZING sounding setup, particularly as my 50Gb of music is all on my PC.

Sorry to thread hijack - just sayin'

Voted this deal hot based on price :-)

Yeah that combo will knock spots off these things. They are aesthetically pleasing though and this is a good price so hot from me.

Good idea, an old cheap amp & speakers is the way to go... Mine sounds good through my Audio Innovations S500 & Snell K's :-)

Comet have harmon kardon sound sticks II for sale here; comet.co.uk/p/P…201

You need to collect instore and they knock 10% off and you pay £100.18p.

I bought a apir this morning as i prefer the blue led light in the subwoofer.
They sell instore for £148 so a great saving IMHO.
