Voted hot however was only £100 for me after returning the pop included as a bundle deal.

Nothing better than having your light turn on, xbox and surround sound all on the right input and settings through google assistant.
YASSSSSS! Been waiting for this. £114.00 with student prime code. Thanks OP!
What's the student prime code?
Thank you, already placed my order for this but will use it one something else
I currently have one in my basket. Used to have and old 600 and loved that. Having a look online to see if it's any good or now just too complicated for its own good.

It’s not as hard as people like to make out, just have a bit of patience and time. You won’t regret it

Oh I get that with the setup. Even with my previous on you had to do the hard yards first to make it worth while. I was more meaning about it trying to do too much and maybe being a master of none. Just looking into it and reviews tbh.
Heat from me, matched the lowest ever price as far as I can tell?

All the reviews seem to say its brilliant, and quality of the control a lot better than the cheaper one!

I tried using student15 but it wouldn't apply to this purchase.

Honest Question:

I have a telly, Sky Q, firestick, Apple TV and an Xbox One I never use. Also got a few Alexa'sh Hive heating and a couple of Xaoimi smart bulbs.

I also should note my boxes are all tucked away in the cupboard behind the TV so no direct pointing at things.

Do I really need one of these? And Why?!

Yes.

Sorry, i've edited my generic question to include a "why?".

Don't see the material benefit for me, but I might be missing something.
Depends if you are happy with loads of remotes & manually turning everything on changing input etc

Are you sure? Mine worked fine.

‘Need’... no. I have Nvidia Shield, Virgin Media TV, PS4, Sonos and then the use of the Netflix and Amazon TV apps. I find it essential for my setup. Put in the time to create all of your activities properly and it’s essential for fluid control. Plus you can control your lights, heating etc.

Thanks for the reply mate. Good insight.

For what I use I think it’s a bit overkill, so I’m gonna pass.
I have this. It is brilliant. The hub is great too.

I've been thinking of getting SKY Q soon, how does it work with that? Sky remote has quite a few unique features.

If you ever get mildly irritated by switching between remotes and inputs etc, it is a great solution; it even controls smart bulbs. Functionality allows you to control everything comprehensively using one device. This is the best remote out there too, admittedly at a high price, but still good value at this price.

I've had one for 2 years and converted everyone that has visited and used the remote (usually to cheaper models as they miss the prime day pricing).

Amazon returns policy is great, it allows you to trial the device and return if you don't like it, so I see little risk in giving it a go (apart from the cash spend )

Ultimately, if you're asking to be convinced then it's probably not for you, which is fine, each to their own.

Yep, I use it for Sky Q, individual buttons are customisable (across all devices) so you can tweak the interface to how you like.

Only thing it's lacks is the voice input which the original Sky Q remote. It is very good and works very well but I survive without it. The Harmony remote's comprehensive functionality makes it a winner.

Cheers buddy. It was the voice I was mainly thinking about. Is there also some kind of motion, gesture pad control on the SkyQ? From using other devices, I wouldn't be bothered about that. But the voice would be nice.

Thanks mate, yeah I was hopeful of a killer reason to make the plunge, but for all I use I think it’s not necessary.

Fully appreciate the advantages, just not too much benefit for me personally.
Ordered one to replace my Ultimate in the living room (which I will move to the bedroom). After using a Harmony since the 525 many many years ago I would now never return to using the remote that come with devices. This will be setup to control

SkyQ
Sony TV
Amp
PS4 (yes after I have turned it on)
Xbox One S
PS3
Wii U

Then as I also have Alexa and Hive I plan to add the two Hive bulbs to it and configure it so I can say "Alexa Turn on Sky" and have the Harmony turn on the Sky Q, Amp and TV.

Yep. I've tried it on several orders yesterday and today, just doesn't seem to like me. My amazon account was opened in 1999 though so maybe they know I'm way too old to be a student

Honestly, the Sky Q remote is V good, its interface iis better than the Harmony remote - the voice search, the touchpad, the slider for forward/rewind, are all very slick and work v well however it can only be used on the Q box. Harmony is better overall because it is cross device and you can program favourite channels, lights, plugs etc. I think there is someway to integrate alexa with Harmony but that is overkill for me.

We use the Harmony remote primarily and have the Q remote lying around :-)

Do you actually have a Student Prime membership rather than standard Prime? So you’d be paying £39 a year.

Thanks.

You don't need to sell the remote to me.

I absolutely love mine, its more or less perfect.

Stupid thing, but I like it doesn't require actually pointing the remote at the devices when you use the hub with the ir sensors. 😁
