It would be even better if they’d let us in the U.K. have the blue Harmony Alexa skill like they have in the US. The red one is useless.

its not that bad once you train yourself what to say.

Got this hardlhy use the remote, just shout at my echo or use the tablet app as have a dedicated home automation tablet.
As a workaround, yonomi works really well. Daft to have to use two apps to mirror each other but once you do it once it's easy to replicate the principle

Wouldn't say it's useless but I do agree, I see no logical reason why they can't give us the better more integrated skill... I have tweeted them about it, and just get the usual corporate BS back about 'no plans....'....
I diagree, this isn't "a good product for home automation".

It's a good universal remote, but far too tied to scenes/activities to be useful for most automation stuff.
Old remote though better waiting for the elite to come down in Black Friday sales. Gitvan elite recently on lightening deal for 120.

It's pretty useless, mine doesn't even work half the time via Alexa and when it does you have to use a very particular order of words, turn on the tv vs. Turn the tv on... one works the other doesn't! Having written Alexa integrations there is no reason why both couldn't easily work... I have to say as a software company Logitech Harmony software is some of the worst I have seen!

It's a shame as the hardware side of things is excellent, just opening up individual device control externally would make this a go to home automation device, I would have bought hubs for other rooms if this was the case!
I managed to pick this up for 68 from Amazon a few months back, decent kit but overpriced for me, couldn't justify it until I managed to nick it for that price.

Also worth adding this works well with Google Home, even before direct integration, using IFTT let's you set multiple commands for the same actions.

Do you have the blue Alexa skill by changing your Amazon account to / registering a new Amazon account in the US?

I second that. I went to update my Harmony One a few days ago. I downloaded the software onto my new machine and used the instruction, SYNC. It deleted all the existing devices off my fully loaded remote that I'd had for the past 4 years. When I did have the software it was as counterintuitive as hell. It made you log in with Logitech to use the software and before you updated the remote you had to upload your remote's data and if you took too long it would log you out. it wasn't smart at all. If I wanted to switch from say Sky to my YouView box it didn't track the state of the TV so it would turn it toggle it off instead of leaving it on. For a logical person, it was really horrible to use.

I went into setting and changed my address to US, so I could get the call feature and drop in on my alexa’s around the house. Then just change back to UK but kept call feature on my device and must have got Blue app because of that

I'm also using the blue Alexa skill, by changing to US Amazon account, but in the US you can't get the second Hive skill, just the one Hive skill, which means Hive doesn't work with Alexa properly.

In short, it seems you can either have Harmony working properly by changing Amazon to US account, or have Hive working properly by having UK Amazon account - you can't have both. Madness.
