Good price but this doesn't do RF control does it it like the cheapo broadlink RM pro? Works spot on with Alexa, even better with routines.

Same price with Amazon prime plus i just bagged a warehouse 20% off deal and got it for £50 - cheers OP

I just got one delivered today from Amazon. Connects to Alexa apparently, I have it controlling stuff via WiFi, Bluetooth and IR. Works great with my Harmony Touch

Someone posted a video on twitter just now of them using it with Alexa. I'm breaking into a sweat about whether to buy it or not

Im amazing with technology and i purchased this to make the home a smart home using alexa. RIP to your brain is what ill say, MEGA confusing “/

How well does the hub integrate with google home?

Hopefully Logitech won't abandon it and make it completely useless crippleware. That was a very bad move on their part.

Has been this price on amazon at least 2 weeks

9 weeks!? Well does that mean it is down to an overstock deal? I noticed on Amazon that a lot of deals that stay on special are down to overstock. They are losing out by not selling, so they cut a small deal.

Will this work with the Alexa remote and firestick, can it turn on a raspberry pi 2 with OSMC and play a film off my nas just by speaking if so I'll wet myself

Oh my word that looks good.
Do you need a Logitech remote for this?

I have my devices in a tv stand but is beam through glass.
Can this work with Sky HD box too?
As in Alexa turn Sky Sports News on and it does it?

Well spotted, thanks

I don't understand what the hub does if the app just sends infra red codes to the equipment what's the point of the hub. Does it have lots of hdmi sockets and you link thru each box confused

I have this.
You cannot control with Alexa in the UK without a blue Harmony app which is only available in the USA at present.
You can use an app called Yonomi but it can be tedious otherwise you have to say "Alexa tell harmony to...." which sucks a bit

Yeah, I've pretty much not used mine at all since buying it for this reason. I couldn't get Yonomi to work properly either!

The Alexa integration is really poor in this country with "Alexa, tell harmony to...." making it awkward to do simple tasks. Search for Alexa Harmony Red Skill UK to see all of the negative comments.

Do you think that touchscreen remote is worth the extra money over the normal one?

With a bit of creative linking, yes, probably.... as long as the devices use any of the compatible protocols i.e. Bluetooth, infrared, WiFi with a bit of tweaking it will be able to control the device via Echo. If your devices use any other protocols like RF / Zigby / Z wave, then it's a matter of getting a compatible RF hub like the cheap but good Broadlink RM pro to link everything together. As for Zigby & Z wave, Logitech sell a Zigby / Z wave extender in the USA that you can link to the hub to add these protocols to your setup or you can get a Samsung Smartthings hub here in the UK.

It's a great piece of kit..... Highly recommended.... bought my 1st one with a companion remote which i never use. I was so pleased with it that I bought a second hub for my bedroom at £69.99 in the last Amazon promo a few months back. I'm using both via multi-room Echo's & Alexa with IFTTT & Yonomi. I have them controlling a multitude of devices in my home via Echo from all my lighting, 2 x HDTV's, both my Sky Q boxes even my Sonos 5.1 Speakers BEFORE Sonos recently released an Official Alexa skill.

The blue skill is now available in the UK but again users have been able to use the Blue US Alexa skill here in the UK for some time. If you switch your Kindle account over to the US via Amazon.com, you will then be able to access ALL of the US Alexa skills. Many of which we won't usually get access to in the UK until months later if at all but be warned. If you already have any smart home skills linked to your UK Alexa account, you will have to re-link them when you make the switch to the US.

From what i have read it can be locked away, using the smartphone, not sure if it works with the remote

Hey Guys that own this.

I have a harmony touch and I'm very interested in this to add to it. I'm assuming if I add this my touch will just comunicate with the hub and the hub will send out the signals rather then having to hold my controller to point at the devices when it runs through the sequance?

Can someone confirm for me? has anyone any experiance of adding this to a touch or other controller that comes without it and can speak of the benefits beside PS3 bluetooth or voice?

Also, just to note there are a few amazon warehouse deals on these. for £66.50 less 20% you can get a like new cosmetic damaged box..
cheers all.

WOOOOOO! About bloody time!

Just fighting with Alexa now to pause Sky rather than pausing Spotify.

A couple of questions please:

I have a HDMI switcher that works with infra-red remote, will this be able to control that? If yes, will it need to be in sight of each other?

Are there any benefits of buying a remote if it can just work with Alexa/smartphone?

I ordered this and then someone else updated that amazon are selling the hub which also comes with the remote for the same price. Using the smart phone to control everything is a good touch for tech people but having the remote is also very handy to have sitting about incase someone else is working the tv or you just want to quickly change the channel or turn up the volume without unlocking your phone and opening the app.
You can go onto the Logitech harmony website and type in the make and model number of any device and it tells you if it is compatible support.myharmony.com/en-…ity

As far as i am aware, even with the hub hidden away it can send a strong enough signal to operate devices which are not visually in reach, it also comes with a ir blaster which connects to the hub and can be put somewhere to improve the signal

yes it can be hidden & it also comes with two ir blasters but I've not needed to use them personally, I find the hubs infrared dispersal good enough.

I can confirm once paired with a Logitech remote, the hub will add an extra wide field of dispersal but for me where it shines is paired with an Echo for voice control. I rarely use my actual remote now.

Yes it will work with your HDMI switcher or any other device that uses one of it's compatible protocols WiFi, Bluetooth or infrared.

Does this work with Google home?

One of the worse deals to ever get this hot. Amazing. People must be clicking for the sake of it. As mentioned, same device but with physical handset on Amazon for same price!!

Footnote: Excellent piece of equipment.

If yo go for the warehouse deal, you automatically get 20% off now. got mine for £50 . They currently have loads
