Yes Charlie was a bit overrated.

Some of those stunts he did made my head SPIN!!!!

Used to watch these when they were shown years ago on BBC 2. I actually bought the box set last time someone advertised it on hotdeals (Can't remember from where but it was a good deal). Still very funny now, how everything is speeded up still makes me laugh.

Those were the days 6 O'Clock BBC 2. I remember watching Flash Gordon as well (Jeez must be getting old). Really fascinated me as a child.
