Follow the first six years of Harry Potter's matriculation at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with this box set that contains the original video releases of HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER'S STONE, HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN, HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE, and HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE. The films, based on the writings of author J.K. Rowling, chart Harry's progress as he discovers his magical powers, meets his soon-to-be two best friends, learns how to play the school sport, Quidditch, and begins to understand how the forces that killed his parents are still out to do him harm. In the sixth thrilling instalment, Harry returns to Hogwarts for another year of schooling and learns more about the dark past of the boy who grew up to become his arch nemesis, Lord Voldemort. While trying to thwart Voldemort's evil plans and save both the Muggle and wizarding worlds from imminent disaster, Harry is struck by the love bug that seems to be going around Hogwarts. Fortunately, Dumbledore, his trusty mentor, is on hand to prepare him for the monumental battle that's looming ever closer.

Why? how are the discs presented?

The thing that puts me off is the audio is only dolby digital. Well that is what is says on the back of the box

2 Movies per case

Bought this last time round. Wow! 2 movies per case! If anyone votes this cold based on that fact then they have some serious problems.

dont like harry potter but this is a hot deal!

Nice!
How does student discount work on their site? NUS card number?

Bought this last time from HMV took ages to arrive then when I finally got it the box was all smashed to pieces. Getting a replacement but i am still waiting for that to arrive. Heat for price tho

Just waiting for the inevitable Amazon post.

Got this from Amazon few days ago on an earlier deal. Regret its had to go back with a sound fault on disk 2. Spoken word only with no background audio. Interesting but I guess a one off fault. But its still a good deal if it works ok.

Mine was fine and haven't heard anyone else comment so I would hope a one off fault. Good job it was disc 2, you might have had to watch them all again to be sure when you got a replacement.

Ordered and heated.

Thanks.

Are these worth paying for or are they just unscaled rubbish like lots on BR

'Life on Mars' is about the only upscaled Blu-ray on the market.
Idiots like you spreading misinformation cause a lot of grief for the average punter.

Hot - great price. Thanks OP

The postal services are going very slow at the moment due to the cristmas period, I might stop ordering for christmas soon because I'm worried about them arriving in time.

Did think of that but i have had other items from play delivered faster in the same period.

ordered for my daughters for christmas, been waiting for last few weeks for price to drop again, I know its only a few pound extra but didnt want to pay £25 for it!

Been waiting for the price to come back down great offer

I bought this for round about the same price on Play.com a few weeks back. Great deal!

Thanks for posting this. I missed out the first two times but got this one.

If you look on bluray.com they do technical reviews of the quality of the BD transfer itself. HP gets 4.5 out of 5 so very good, sound is presented in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 - so not just Dobby Digital.

Also got this from Play last week, so a bargin!

Many thanks my friend, just ordered and voted HOT!

Been waiting for this to go down again thanx op...

Could not bring myself to pay £25 after it had been on offer twice before and i missed out..

Never seen them before but will enjoy them this xmas, in HD...

There are loads and loads of upscaled blu-rays, they just use a super crappy filter to smooth it out a bit further which is identical to what the better 1080p players on the PC do, but that doesn't mean that any "real" information is added. As for Harry Potter: It's not that bad, there is some slight improvement between the DVD version and the Blu-Ray verison, but it only starts to get really impressive starting at the 4th film.

As for spreading misinformation, I challenge you to look at comparison shots of even high-quality titles, scale up the dvd version using a quality upscaler (so no Microsoft Paint etc) and tell me what difference you see. I just think you're trying to justify to the outside world that you paid insane prices for absolutely minor improvements.

Genuinely curious to know which BD titles you're referring to and want to know more about this "filter" that apparently makes things smoother. Why would you want to make a crisp image smoother? Are you talking about Digital Noise Reduction?
