Update 2
Second price drop from £74.89 to £73.99. Removed 4 Privet Drive as no longer a deal price
This is one of the new Harry Potter Lego (number 75969) sets, and the cheapest it's been so far. And as I've been told multiple times by an excitable 7-year-old who is now proficient at Google, it connects up with the other older sets (75954 Hogwarts Great Hall, 75953 Hogwarts Whomping Willow and 75948 Hogwarts Clock Tower) to create a complete Hogwarts Castle.

Mischief Managed!

Product description - Astronomy Tower

  • Search the night sky with the telescope, check on the mandrakes in the greenhouse, chill in the Ravenclaw dorm or join Slughorn's party
  • Includes 8 minifigures: Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Neville, Draco, Lavender Brown and Professor Horace Slughorn, plus a Hedwig figure
  • Accessories include mandrake plants, letters, wands, a book of potions, broomstick, cakes, wine glasses, lanterns, torches and candles

The model measures over 15” (40cm) high, 11” (29cm) wide and 6” (17cm) deep.

Contains 971 pieces.

Update 1
Another 1%ish has dropped off each of these sets, probably because other retailers came down and matched Amazon's original cut

Stop tempting me.......
Hmm - not bad but I'm confident they'll drop further at some point. Retailers regularly offer 20% off Lego. I'll be strong and hold out!

I'll try - though need to stop tempting myself first!

Just built the Great Hall last night, was meant to prevent me wanting the new ones but it’s just made me want them more...

Told myself to hold out for ~30% but don’t know if I’ll be able to hold out for that long or if the excitement will get to me first
Arghhhh bought Hedwig and Attack on the burrow last week.... Runs off to check bank account

The equivalent sets (eg Great Hall) from previous collections have dropped into £60-something range around Black Friday in the past, so will be interested to see if same happens here
Don't know if it's any good but you got my vote for 'Mischief managed'.
I'm still awaiting the "big one" dropping

Yes, it will be interesting. For some reason with all the supply issues and the fact this is more popular at the moment due to lockdown I’m suspecting not so heavily discounted. Especially as this seems a better wave in general imo. We’ll have to see

Probably ought to focus on getting the 2018/19 sets first.

Very cool if you're building a Harry Potter world. We are going for a city in our house so 4 Privet Drive is on the wish list. Hoping it might drop more over time but this is still a good deal for a new set. Hot for me.

Heat from me and cold from my bank account!
I’ve been holding out for the Burrow set to go on sale over the Tower, but have gone for the Tower now at this price. Just have to make room for it to go with the other castle sets

Since the Burrow is a Smyths / Lego Shop exclusive, it’s much less likely to go on sale until it’s available elsewhere. Smyths May put it on a slight discount sometime, but there’s no reason for them to heavily discount it as there’s no competition. The best you’ll probably get is when Lego runs a 10% VIP points promo!

The other deal I was hoping for was a HP exclusive build set direct from Lego Shop with the high end purchases, but all they’ve offered so far was the Hot Rod set.

There was an HP gift rumoured by a leaker but that individual has likely been debunked. We’ll have to see, there’ll definitely be some cool stuff around Christmas even if it’s not HP themed.

Not HP themed but some GWPs have been announced for July; awesome to see the Christmas tree back! thebrickfan.com/leg…ts/

I’ll be honest I am getting old and Lego is growing on me more and more 🤦🏽

Some good freebies it seems in July. Do you think you could get a free multi build set and Xmas tree set where the two offers cross over dates or will it be one or the other? Im now thinking Ill delay my purchase until these offers are available.

Yeah it was £54 this morning and yesterday I think , someone posted a deal for it. It’s annoying when Amazon does this.
GIFT05 for a fiver off. A/c specific.
I’m looking for a HP Lego set for my nephew...I’m baffled at why this is such a hot deal at £1 off?!

It started off at £75.99, when the next best price was £79.99.

When prices drop with the same retailer, but by less than 5%, we tend to just update the existing deal rather than post a new one.

So I guess it is hot because less than a month ago the next best price was £80, and they've just gradually all dropped

What's a good price on the big Hogwarts set to be aiming for?
Duck me.. Who is gonna pay £74 for a bit of plastic?

Am I missing the point here, how is £1 a deal? Maybe I am entirely missing the point.

The OP explained above - it’s an old deal with an updated price.
