Various dates, Harry Potter Link in 1st post for tickets.

Harry Potter Studio Tour (Watford) + Hotel with free parking from £38pp based on a family 4 (2A & 2C) staying at the Mercure London Watford Hotel which is approx 2.5 miles from Harry Potter Studios itself. -This was on 29th April (prices may differ slightly)

Also if you sign up via Earnaway you can get a bonus £12 cashback on a £25+ booking and laterooms has a decent cashback rate so i got another £5.80 cashback on top = £17.80 back in my pocket.

Hotel has free parking outside with plenty of spaces, McDs is literally next door and Watford town centre is 2 miles away with plenty of parking and a huge shopping centre and lots of resturants (stuck a load of info in 1st post)

Also a Huge Asda is literally 5 mins drive away from the hotel

Also if you want something else to do, Aldenham country park is approx 1.5 miles away - All you do is pay for parking and free to walk around the lake, also a park and loads of places to sit and eat, so take a packed lunch (There is a little cafe type hut but it is expensive)

There's also a farm on-site (just pay £5 for feed - think you get 3 bags iirc) and you can walk around that also

Any info on what other places to visit around the area, feel free to ask

Thanks!

If you haven't been to see Harry P, it's well worth it, just be prepared for the shop afterwards as a tad expensive!

Sorry, I meant my quota for visits to Harry Potter World.

Ive been 3 times in 12 months (got the GroupOn 'Closed Doors' special on this site last time too).

Brilliant. I admit, I did buy from the 'Showcase' section of the shop too. Was tempted for one of the £600 masks, but settled on a Tom Marvelo Riddle Diary (really weighty and well put together).

Amongst all the purchases from the regular store. Urgh. £50 for a jumper.

But I still get to say "But its official!"

I draw the line at £75 robes though. Im happy to just have them on for a bit whilst they do the filming bit. Which is also very clever.

Ah! Apologies!

We bought a few things, bits for the kids and a couple of beer jugs, Good quality & weighty

Also well worth paying the extra for the photo riding on the broom and of course the butterbeer
Luckily, the Butterbeer was included in the closed doors thing through Groupon.

Was a nice touch to get the "Souvenir Tankard" which I think is usually £6 by itself when ive been before.

Chocolate frogs again, expensive, but a nice thick chocolate. Some of the other sweets are a little lazy in their efforts to make them look 'authentic' or 'proppy'. But the store is lovely. We always get a magnet from places we visit (oh so rock and roll) and HPW is one of the most difficult we've been too as there were millions!

Damn it.

You've engaged my love of Potter and im now going to have to go home tonight to discuss making this happen.

Im only about 45-60 minutes from Watford - but ill happily take the whole package.

Literally £155'ish for me, the missus and the two kids? For the visit plus the night? Breakfast included or is that the reference to McDs... which I wouldnt pass on

Price doesn't include breakfast, although there is a restaurant in the hotel which serves Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

TBH you're better off going to McDs for breakfast as it'll be much cheaper.

OR you could go into town and eat at the many restaurants like Ed's Diner which do a decent breakfast (situated in the shopping centre itself)

PS Asda also has a Cafe (5 mins drive from hotel) if you want to pick up bits for the day , kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

hi
could you pos5 link to tickets onl6 deal please?
Is there a tour only option at reasonable price? I do not need a hotel as I live in travel distance ....
Good deal. We visited in February half term from Newcastle (family of 3), but I booked the trip as a christmas surprise, by getting tickets direct from WB Studios, and then booking the Mercure Noke Hotel at St Albans (only about 4 or 5 mile from the tour). Cost just under £170 doing it that way.

It is well worth a visit... but the shop is expensive, as said.
Stay just up the road in St Albans, much nicer spot.
Am I going to be disappointed if I have been to the Harry Potter stuff @ Universal first?
Do they have a Ford Anglia Flying car ?

Costco ain't to far away either
Stayed at this hotel when I went the studios last year, was dirty and nothing like the pictures above, but location was good to getting to the studio.
I like the movies but I'm not an obsessive fan, and I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the studios in January with eldest daughter who's a huge fan.
We had lunch not too far away at Eats and Treats (see tripadvisor) who say they were one of the caterers, before going to the studios, and the food there was good.

Be warned that there are many places promising discounted tickets which are more expensive than buying direct on the official website!
p.s. official site: https://www.wbstudiotour.co.uk/
I paid extra for the audio guide, which was well worth it.
This is a great post and deal. Think I might get looks being a lone older male wandering around.
Thanks for taking time to post Gooner, looks a cracking deal.

Just to confirm, this deal is for the "complete" studio tour package?

I've been to both and I wasn't dissapointed with the Studio Tour, Universal is a bit more interactive as you can go into the shops in Diagon Alley but the studio tour was really interesting because it's where they actually filmed it.

You had me at Ed's.

Might as well just stay at a The Grove with that logic...

This is a decent deal. Hotels in and around St Albans will be pricey. It's only a 20 min drive there anyway.

Yup, Hotel and Harry Tour, you can see what's included with tickets when booking on WB site.

It's LevioSAAAHH
I live down the road from the studio but haven't been yet - whats the best option for tickets (family of 4)? Any discounts for the website? Is it better to go on the groupon deal or just the basic family package? thanks!
Sorry I can't see the link for the HP tickets?

Thanks,

I assume you've done the "The Complete Studio Tour Package" for 2 adults and 2 children? You want to do the "Family" option to get the cheaper price.

(Don't know if you can purchase the Paperback Souvenir Guide and Digital Guide separately as I assume you won't want 4 of them anyway)

Not sure if the digital (audio) guide has to be pre-booked, but the Souvenir guide is available at the shop at the end - £9.99 for the softback, and £14.99 for a hardback (annual type).

We got one of those (softback), its a decent book, worth the tenner.
