My son has asked for the Risk board game for Christmas, and looking around, £18.75 at The Entertainer seems to be the best price I could find (It's £22.49 on Amazon, and some places are £25 or more!).I have to admit as board games go, it's a great game, been around for years, but because it requires strategy & skill, probably not going to appeal to younger children. Also worth pointing out that this needs a minimum of 3 players.

It's also the same price in Tesco, but I as you all know I hate Tesco, so only mentioning to keep the Tesco shoppers (or being cynical, Tesco employees) happy, so they 'hopefully' don't put the inevitable 'same price in tesco' posts as I've said it for you!

Here's a summary:

Take over the world with the Risk board game.

Risk is the ultimate test of strategy and skill with players battling it out for 'world domination'.

The board shows a political map of the Earth, divided into forty-two territories, which are grouped into six continents. The aim of the game is to occupy every territory on the board and eliminate all other players in doing so.

Players control armies and use them to capture territories from other players, with results determined by dice rolls.

Risk is suitable for three to five players aged 10 and up.

Don't know about the deal, but I used to love this board game as a kid!

Thanks for the advice, but what sort of age edition did you buy, and is the older one better / different in gameplay? I must admit I'd looked on eBay and there seems to be rather a lot of different versions of this game, and I can't remember which one I used to own as I didn't get to play it much.

Best board game bar none. Maybe game of life is better, possibly monopoly.

That's the version I have , it can be bought for much less off of eBay, I'm not sure if they sell the older version brand new which you might want to given it is going to be a present, I would myself, explain that the older version is better and try and find a well looked after one .

Thanks for that, I'm pretty sure that's the one I used to have, I'll have to look into it before buying I guess.
