Thanks for the hot vote guys, glad I could bring a good deal to HUKD for once

Hot! Can't argue about getting a freebie! Good board and good case. Case is about £35 elsewhere.

Why is this board so cheap but their crap amd 990fxa board range are so expensive

Good deal though can't help but feel that Gigabyte are getting desperate

Good deal, hot, but I'll stick with ASUS :).

great deal, I have gigabyte and love it. Each to their own

Nice offer but please amend your Gigabyte link which is currently gigabyte.com/pro…959 which is for the Gaming 7 board which is not the board on offer, here. This deal is the Gaming 3 board, correct link here gigabyte.com/pro…966 . My preference at this price is for the Gaming 5 board but that's not what's on offer, here, and if someone doesn't need or want the added features of the Gaming 5 and wants a case, hot!

Thanks and hot offer either way. Unhelpfully Gigabyte's comparator between the Gaming 3 and Gaming 5 board lists no difference between the two, but the Gaming 5 is aimed people who want the best possible sound and a headphone amp that works will with 600ohm so-called audiophile headphones, differences include that Gaming 5 comes with "high end Nichicon audio capacitors, TI Burr Brown® OPA2134 operational amplifier, gold plated display and audio ports, four bundled Sata cables as opposed to 1 with the Gaming 3, 1 x S/PDIF Out header, 1 x audio gain control switch, I am not sure if there is a difference in the number of power phases or whether they are both equal for overclocking. Ebuyer have the Gaming 5 board with a list of awards for around £102 but, frustratingly, no free case. I like Asus boards a lot for features but Gigabyte still come out top for reliability/fewer DOA, but some complaints about the returns process.

Damn, thought this was for a Gaming 7...

Hi noclouds, what would you recommend for a z97 motherboard under £130.

Heat added for this deal though

Can't seem to get free delivery with scan, so it comes out at £114.66. But nice find

Advice please, I have built hundreds of PC's but I am not a gamer, so not up on graphics capabilities (my builds have all been business machines) HOWEVER I am excitedly awaiting delivery of an Oculus DK2 Virtual Reality headset, so will need some decent graphics capabilities!

I already have various laptops and tablets along with a 27" 2011 IMAC,

From the Oculus site:

"The computer must have an HDMI or DVI video-out port. Note that VGA is unsupported at this time. Other than that, there are no minimum specifications, though the more powerful the computer, the better the experience will be. Any standard gaming computer should be sufficient to use the Oculus Rift."

SO... how good are the onboard graphics of this motherboard?

Many thanks in advance.

Why? In what way?

Really Like ASUS's ROG BIOS interface to adjust so many aspects of the built computer, including "EZ" overclocking profiles based on your cpu cooling type etc, lots of high speed connectivity, high quality components etc. Keybot, more than one PCI-e 16x slot (the one on this deal only has one 16x, one 8x and one 4x, all of which share bandwidth), some excellent online gaming speed features, excellent surge protection. Seemed like a very good spec at the expected £130 pricepoint.

Gaming computer means not using onboard graphics Grab a GTX 660 or something.

It's not free.

The freebie cost is built in to the cost of this.

Well to show it's not free, you only need to find the board for less than £105. Dabs have it for £95, so you're paying a tenner for the case.

@Kester 990fx boards are for the amd side of CPUs...this is a z97 board socket 1150 for the intel side of CPUs so yeah. Great board for over clocking and a decent case added in heat added
