Good price for these. Very much a clone of "Bah Humbug" ale (which is also 5% ABV. Perhaps "Winter special" is a direct clone of it? As I recall Wychwood/Marstons had some involvement of Hatherwood brews before. Lots of festive spiciness to this beer.

Shelf label showed as £1.29. Gutting because if I'd known they were £1 each I would have stocked up with more as there's nothing like sitting in the garden on a hot summers day with a bottle of a festive ale.

A national deal but while stocks last. Plenty left in Malvern store.

I'm puzzled by the cold votes. Back in November this beer was posted up here at full price (£1.29) which received a total of 146 heat (hotukdeals.com/dea…912), so this is a very good deal.

Maybe people's festive spirits have gone with the transition into new year or lots of people have given up the booze for January
Don't bother if you enjoy good beer. It is a passable drink, perhaps it would be good for marinating beef, but for an evening's consumption, you can easily find better.
Does anyone know if this is like the winter warmer they used to do? Really liked it, but not seen it in shops again.

Each to their own with tastes though. There's so many different types of beer and various categories that someone can't say for example "Jaipur" is passable and "Abbot ale" is a much better beer because one is an IPA, the other a Bitter.

For people who specifically enjoy Christmas beers with the spices and festive taste, Winter special is a nice beer. Like for like there just aren't many other readily available festive beers to have instead (Bah Humbug "Shepherd Neame Christmas ale" and "Festive pudding ale" weren't readily available at supermarkets this year. The Co-op's "Winter ale" was a bit thin and lacking in festive spices. Aldi did a few table ales but weren't that festive).

So on that basis, you can't easily find a better Christmas beer at all unless you order some online which will quite easily be upwards of £2.80 a bottle.

Yes it is. I know the one you mean, 330ml bottle, red colours on the label. This one is a slightly lower ABV but very similar with the festive spices.

Thanks! Yeah that was the one. I'll give this one a try and see what it's like.
Thanks OP 🔥 I'll keep an eye open in our local store
I found this horrible ! I wouldn't buy it if it was 50p....

TBHI don't like many of their (heatherwood) Ales, the only one I find ok (but only 2 Bootles max) is Green gecko.
