What's the difference between this rum and say lamb's navy rum, what's stronger in taste
Dark rum ( Lambs ) is a lot sweeter, i love white rum but not that fussed on dark. This is a good compromise though and it has a lovely vanilla taste to it.
Navy rum has a much stronger taste. Havana is more vanilla in flavour.
So Cuban rum is not classed as dark rum, even though it looks dark in your photo
have a little read of this. might explain better than me

So would you liken it to Malibu
Havana 7 (my personal fave) is dark, this is considered a light rum. For all intent and purpose, I'd still call it a dark rum myself. I like navy rum too, the Havana rums are just more delicate. You should try it.
HELL no... I can't stand white rum... it's gowd awful.
No its a unique flavour, give it a try? or maybe look round for mini bottles of rum that you get in gifts sets for xmas and give a few a go.
The reasoning behind my original question was because I recently made a recipe from C4 Sunday brunch for Cuban chicken which includes 50ml of Cuban rum, but I didn't want to buy a £20+ bottle just for 50ml, so I used my Captain Morgan rum I already had in! So wasn't sure if the dark rum would spoil the original recipe but it was quite delicious tbh
