Good price shame my sons school isn't on half term.
Half Term isn’t in March !
Is there much to do indoors if the weather is awful? Never booked a Haven holiday before.

Been on one, the main indoor activities are drinking, fried food and slot machines.

The swimming pools are usually really good, with splash zones and slides. Also, there’s kids club activities which are based on the weather. They’re free, just sign up for them on the day. Evening entertainment is brilliant - kids disco and family shows after. There are soft play areas inside as well as arcades. Usually a sports bar if that’s your thing too (the one in Exmouth is next to the soft play)

I’m in the south west, our half term starts on the 30th March. Makes for a cheaper holiday I guess, but the kids only get Easter Monday off and then they’re back in school

No April hols
Has anybody been to the Lake District one?

It's cheap as chips and I'm considering a short break with the dog and the in-laws (out of half term of course). Worth it, or more angled towards the kiddies?

We went with kids. I would say probably not suited to adults to be completely honest. There's so many kids running around and the entertainment is geared towards kids, I don't think we'd do it without children. The location of the lakes one is ok, there's a few things to drive to not that too far away. If you want a super cheap caravan break and just want a place to stay then it might be fine. I'd personally look at a BnB, an Airbnb or even a caravan site for adults, but it depends what you like and what you're looking for.
These are great, as I can work out when and where not to go on holiday.
69 for the whole family not the greatest choice of words.

If that's how you choose to spend your time there when it rains it says more about you than Haven

Maybe just Devon then? I didn’t know there was such a discrepancy with term dates 😬

No it’s not and considering that Easter is at the beginning of April, how could half term possibly be in March? Besides, your following posts support what I am saying.

My children - in year 2 & year 6, in a Devon county council school - have half term that starts on Monday the 30th March. I apologise that your children’s half term doesn’t start on the same date. Half term does in fact start in March, for us.

If your going to apologise for anything then it would be because you can’t read your own post !! Your kids half term is from 17th Feb to 21st Feb, like the rest of us and your term ends on the last day before March 30th, again, like the rest of us. (rolls eyes)

What are you on about? This is for March holidays?! The EASTER half term for my school falls in March, rather than April.
Easter .. as in April. Not February. Please come back to me when you have something valid to say.

So you think that Easter as an half term? Ok, fair enough. Now I know why some shoes have Velcro fasteners.

All of this over me calling the school break ‘half term’ rather than ‘Spring holidays’?!
How pedantic of you
Out of 100 parents, I bet at least 75% would refer to it as half term - for ease . Jesus wept .... on Easter for sure!
Congratulations on teaching the 8 people in this thread the real names of school breaks. Also, how not to type.
Either way, keyboard warrior, I bid you adieu.

I’m pretty sure that only 1 person needed to learn anything from our exchanges. Oh, and don’t forget to leave chocolate eggs under the Christmas tree.

Just back from a haven holiday. There is so much to do indoors for kids. There was a soft play, the pool with slides, cookery classes such as a chocolate workshop, shows, meet the characters, playgroup, an aerial adventure course, segways, crazy golf, an inflatable assault course, archery, fencing, football, learn to ride a bike, crafts and the list goes on and on. I cannot speak highly enough of Haven: Craig Tara and hafan y mor are my favourite sites so far.

Jeez. Yours must be keeping you up long hours, does it matter that much. To be honest i don't get the names of most the school holidays and 'half term' will do to cover it.
