Thank you! Managed to reserve one at my local Comet. Can't go wrong at £4.99...

Heat added, I've been wanting to try it and you can't go wrong at that price. You'll probably get as much back if / when you trade it in.

I was very tempted with this game at release but couldnt afford it.

Does anyone know how it compares with the ace combat series?

non near moi! Excellent price tho

Excellent price for an excellent game....

Why is this expired ? stock near me...

I find it to be very similar although I prefer the general gameplay in Ace Combat - Hawx has this bizarre system where you fly in a 'normal' mode where the planes are slow and sluggish then you can 'take the safeties off' and switch to the extreme mode but it drops to a third person camera watching your plane from the side. I much preferred being able to fly the plane properly in Ace Combat and enjoyed the standard combat.

Hawx though has better mission design as there's a better variety of missions and there's better choice of weapons as well. In Ace Combat I pretty much used the same plane and loadout for every mission as it was easy enough to blow everything up with standard missiles. In HAWX though you really need to choose a plane which matches the mission, balancing ground attack and air to air combat capabilities. I didn't like that in Ace Combat, all the plane's cannons were identical even the Warthog which has a far more powerful cannon. In Hawx the Warthog has the correct cannon which can rip straight through anything.

For £5 I think it's an easy choice, although I enjoyed AC more I haven't regretted forking out £18 for HAWX.
