Savings are always good so useful 1st post

Unfortunately for me I've had enough of HMV because my Quidco transactions with them never give a return.

3 out of four have returned with "validated" yet an amount of zero.

that is how HMV tracking works. It tracks £0.00 initially and then when the monies are received, it shows the correct amount. I have never had issues. Touch wood!

If you login and read the HMV specific notes on ]Quidco, it says:

Please read the following before proceeding:

**This will initially track in as a zero amount, it will be updated to the correct amount once your order has been approved and has been shipped.

whos poo?? :whistling:

good deal :w00t:

ahhh, that explains it.

Just to add my two pence worth on the HMV - Quidco thing. Personally, I find that if something isn't despatched on the day I order it, then the transactions never track to the correct value and amounts don't change from £0.00. If they send them straight away (which is rare with HMV) then yes, the amount is added. This isn't a one off either. I am talking up to 10 transactions over the last 6 months that a real amount was never added for.

same here, quidco very hit n miss for hmv regardless of when despatched

Excellent deal, 12 HDDVD's delivered for less than £50 with £5 quidco!

WOOOP!

HOT from me

This is getting rediculous now, had to order a further 8 HD-DVD at £3.60 each, real bargin :P

Will they drop in price even more? 3 for £10 sounds feasible.

i've had a lot of trouble with hmv quidco lately, all my orders are just validating at 0.00

great deal my hd dvd collection is 48 and rising w00t even ordered Hotel babylon at 3.99

Grrr, paid more for some of these.

It is tempting to wait but Amazon has gone out of stock of a lot a titles and you get the feeling that the big stores just want to clear HD-DVD asap.

Hmmm, now which titles haven't I got:whistling:

Fortunately this is still a good deal even if you don't get your Quidco.

and I thought I'd finished my spending spree.....guess this is going to cost me a little more to snag some titles that I didn't want to spend too much on. Voted Hot, but cold for my bank account

Heat added. Just had to cancel my small order i placed a couple of hours ago and re-order it again. Just saved a fortune by doing this.

Wooohooo

Not again! I always thought dvd wouldnt get much better. My collection is approaching the 300+ mark. I saw the amazon deal a few days ago and bit the bullet and ordered a few HD dvd's. Now this hmv deal is making me very temped and ive just gone ahead and ordered 5 more HD dvd's.
The funny thing is I've not even got a HD dvd player.
Think Ive just gone mad and sooner or later gonna be left bankrupt. God help me

That would be sweet, however it wasn't released on HD DVD over here so you may have a very long wait.

Nice post OP, picked up Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Ah..didn't know it's a region 1 release. Dont suppose it'll run on Xbox HDDVD player?

HD DVD is region free so unless you've got a strange xbox drive it should be fine.

ScarboroughKID;2325323

Cool! Got my eye on Terminator 2 as well.

ok, it's not on hd-dvd in the uk and you'll be very lucky to pick this up for less than £5 as was originally posted

It's an awful film anyway :whistling:

Omega Man beats the **** out of this CG fest...

Err no it isn't.

This sucks, I have just been told I cant buy anymore. Baby arrives in 3 weeks and apparently we need money for that!!!

Maybe time to get an alternative address and send them round to the folks and introduce them slowly to my collection heh heh

Yikes - more to add to my collection - this is getting silly ;-)

Must have some self control soon or I'll bankrupt myself,

There's still a few titles I want that are clinging on to the £6.99 mark :? but otherwise hot for the ones at 3.99

scottb;2325249

No prices in their stores are rip offs. HD DVD's are still onsalethere for over £20

Robston;2325496

it is, trust me. and as for the ending...

it's pretty dire
read the book much more amazing

souljacker;2325696

Why exactly should I trust you? It's a popcorn movie that was just fine for the holidays (Xmas). Not the best film in the world but not awful as you proclaimed. The AQ and PQ of the HD DVD is very good as well. Have you seen the alternate ending?

TweetsBMTH;2325708

Of course the book is better, show me a hollywood 'popcorn' film that was better than it's original source?

Agree to differ I think.

the film was like they hadn't even read the book at all
In the book you start to feel for the loneliness and the insanity of the character
in the film you don't feel nothing
