Product Description

Postage extra - still looks good for the price.

delivery cheapest is 4.19?

£4.19 minimum delivery charge on top.

Confused does this take on internal HDD? No HDMI out?

Off putting:

HDD support 3.5" IDE and SATA FAT32(max capacity 500GB)

Then later on:

HDD Support: 3.5†IDE and SATA - FAT32 (Max Capacity 1TB)

Perhaps fixable via firmware update or flashing some other OS.

In what sense is this a NAS drive? The retailer most definitely doesn't describe it as one, so this is simply misleading :-(

It can play video which has been streamed FROM a PC, but it most definitely isn't able to stream anything TO a media player!

Had one of these from maplins and took it back, of no real use i afraid. Bear in mind will only work as a nas wiith fat32 so file size restriction. think what could you use it for ??

Shame no 1080P or MKV support, still a good deal.

From what I've seen online it's pretty good if you don't expect too much of it. A bit limited in terms of picture quality and the formats it can use, no HDMI and only up to 720p. on the other hand it's a bargain for kids or guest room

It looks like it isn't a NAS drive, however ebuyer make no claim that it is, the post here is as inaccurate as the garbled specs.

Also maximum disk size of 500Gb.

Yes, and on amazon it states 500GB. See my previous comment.

does this allow you to record media from an external source, such as a video player, camcorder???

if not, does anyone know of a device that can do that.....

i am looking for a HDD recorder which would allow me to record from an external source so i can transfer to my PS3 for viewing

i have tried using a dvd-recorder, but that has a limit of only 1 hour footage at HQ with mixed results. i used a £40 usb device from pc world but the video/audio was out of sync as my laptop is not fast enough.

any other suggestions??? (thanks in advance)

Basically it is a cheap one of these:- ebuyer.com/pro…416

But without 1080p, MKV or HDMI abilities.

this is about the normal price for it. it's available at this price at some other retailers so not that great of a deal, plus according to the reviews it's full of bugs...

Whys it want FAT32? That's old hat! Anyone got one who can confirm? I'd definitely need to put a TB drive in it.

I would like one of these - but I'd prefer a better quality one even if I need to spend £60. Can anyone recommend one? I notice WD do this one - ebuyer.com/pro…464

I've heard the WD isnt as good as the cyclones.

This would probably be my choice

scan.co.uk/pro…yer

However if you are not worried about network capabilities or internal HDD capabilities this

scan.co.uk/pro…usb

for £31 ish is the best choice,

I just bought one for my sister for christmas.

Hmmm, but the WD you can't put a HDD in by the sounds of it (only via USB ports) - is there one I can get like the WD which I can put a 1TB hdd in? Would be perfect

It doesn't appear I can put a HDD in either of those?

Thanks very much for your help Pepp

ebuyer.com/pro…502

Guess it's that that I need but I already have a TB HDD

Did anyone get one of these, I see its still £19.99.

can you use this for the xbox 360? for viewing
