whats the deal with hdmi 1.4 do you need special cables or is it just the sources signal that changes?

Good price, cheaper than most on eBay. Anyone who spends more than £5 on an HDMI cable less than 5m wants their head looking at mind you...

Doubt it would work for ARC though

good deal

Different cable as well, uses some pins that were previously unused.

This is fine for things like the xbox which aren't 1.4 anyway. Although 1.4 cables can be used for that but with no added benefit for likely extra cost.

Fairly soon most will, but not likely the current generation of consoles will be (even the new xbox is still 1.2 from what I can find online).

If the rest of the hardware isn't 1.4 I don't think I'd bother with it for now, unless there's not much in it cost wise and replacing any of the cables would be a nightmare.
