OK they won't be outstanding for this price but has anyone got one and tested it yet?

Well worth getting one anyway and testing it myself (hmmmmm)

Everything being transmitted through an HDMI cable is DIGITAL, which means it's all going to go down the cable and be received PERFECTLY or... it's not. It's just sending 1s and 0s so even if the cheap cable makes them a bit wobbly, it can still tell they're 1s and 0s perfectly. You'd have to have a very, very bad cable to have any quality problems with it! Problems with digital cables could be a bad design that causes a plug that falls out or something I suppose, but I doubt these have problems like that. Basically there's not much that can go wrong with a cable for digital signal.

If you think cheap and expensive HDMI cables are going to have different effects, feel free to do a double blind test to see if you can tell the difference.

Now buying cheap cables for analogue signal can be a problem, for example SCART leads or speaker wire. It's sending a full range of things instead of just 1s and 0s, so if it gets wobbly by the other end then it will look or sound wrong. However, the expensive cables (monster etc.) are also a rip off that don't really make a difference either.

The difference with it would be in a case such as mine when you are running the cable to the back off your tv from your hdmi dvd player and you have an optical cable going to your surround sound and the two audio feeds are like 1/2 a second - 1 second appart so u kinda have an echo thing going on

Shouldn`t you just turn the sound off from the TV anyway and have it coming from surround System? Thats what I do.

yeah but thats just a pain in the arse lol

hey im lazy lol

How can the HDMI have a Max. resolution: 1,080i ?? I would have though resolution is independent from cable that delivers the signal.

This cable only states it supports up to 1080i though
- Suppose it could just be untested for 1080P. Looks like an excellent price, even though I'm a DVI kinda guy, lol.

p.s. There's always that incredible satisfaction of having cables with fantastic build quality which makes the entrance price of more expensive cables seem worthwhile.

Edit: Decided to expand my HDMI knowledge - Scroll around half way down and you too can speak like a cable geek about HDMI.

1080p and 1080i take the same bandwidth, at least in terms of what fps actually gets used. 25 full frames, or 50 half frames, it's the same thing. The only exception might be some games consoles which use 50fps progressive, but no video does.

The guy above is right though, HDMI either works, or fails horribly. No inbetween, no "subtle" quality issues. Perfect or catastrophic failure, and if it's the latter you just return it.

I'd only just ordered a HDMI cable from Amazon. Cancelled now!
I will see what this cable is like.

BTW it is available on Thursday 30th November (in case you missed the small print!).

thx for this will pick one up tomorrow:)
