LG’s B9 combines 4K HDR cinema screen design with advanced AI to further enhance both picture and sound. Perfect Colour on Perfect Black ensures real-world colour and contrast, while Dolby Atmos sound unites with Dolby Vision HDR for a cinematic experience. Use LG’s award-winning webOS Smart platform to stream shows from such apps as Netflix*, and navigate with the intuitive Magic Remote. With this Thinq AI TV you can interact by voice, with the Google Assistant and Alexa built in. A streamlined alpine stand means its slim profile matches its spectacular visuals.

Impeccable 4K OLED Screen
Organic LED tech fuses with 4K resolution for superior contrast, colour and clarity. OLED pixels are self-lighting, meaning that they can switch on-and-off individually, for the deepest blacks and super-bright whites. Compared to regular LED screens, LG's panel adds an extra white sub-pixel, delivering ultra-fine gradation and a true-to-life colour palette.

4K Cinema HDR with Dolby Vision
HDR deepens your view and shows shades previously unseen in home entertainment. Expanding light, dark and every colour in between to extraordinary new levels, this model's picture gets closer to real life. LG's 4K Cinema HDR supports multiple HDR formats including Dolby Vision, Advanced HDR by Technicolor and HDR10 Pro.

4K Ultra High Definition
This 55” screen has four times the number of pixels than 1080p Full HD TVs, delivering stunning realism, natural motion and incredible detail.

Features:

Perfect Colour on Perfect Black: thanks to the OLED screen's self emitting pixels, colour representation is lifelike and wide-ranging, on a background of perfect blacks and rich detail, even in dark shades.

Alpha 7 Gen 2 Processor: The second generation intelligent processor is optimised for a premium OLED picture of exceptional clarity and brightness, whatever you’re watching.

Dolby Atmos Sound: immersive Dolby Atmos places sound within three dimensions for an enveloping soundscape, with you at the centre. Coupled with Dolby Vision HDR, it's a fully cinematic experience.

Thinq AI: bringing the intelligence and convenience of voice interaction to the living room, this Thinq AI TV can listen, think and respond to your questions.

4K High Frame Rate via HDMI: With full HDMI 2.1 compatibility, this LG TV can handle High Frame Rates for smoother motion, so even the most frantic sporting action is crisp and blur-free.

GZ590 is without hdmi 2.1 and eARC not worth it.

Yes, it is.
Better PQ, all HDR standards, and this only has 2 of the 2.1 features and the 950, not 590 has ALLM so one of those then.
Better PQ over esrc any day of the week all my stuff goes thru a receiver like it should anyway.
why are they binning these out for nothing all of a sudden? i paid £1600 for the older version about 2 years ago and that was cheap then!
Think new models are to be shown at ces2020. Probably see reductions elsewhere next few weeks

Remember one thing, only LG panels can stay bright in top lumination in HDR mode long as they want, rest of them, rest of the panels lose their brightness with short period of pick hdr lumination. Lg B9 got 650 nits but real ones, when others got a bit more, but only for limited time... Thats the marketing trick. Check tests OLED panels and compare it

I have, they are all LG panels and the 950 hits 700 and has better processing.
Also, let people have opinions, especially contrary to your own.
It's fun!

Sure, all manufacturers using LG panels, with different soft and hardware. Everybody knows LG panels in Sony OLEDS got best picture quality, and sharpness. But this thing with HDR lumination is true. Lg dont lie with nits

CES 2020 is literally this week. It's from the 7th till 10th I believe. Its where all the new TVs get shown off that are coming out later this year. Prices always crash this time of year. In the next few months you will start seeing the new models come out and this year's models start disappearing.

I’m torn between this one and the Sony AG8 which is a bit more expensive, although has better sound. Sony’s tend to have better picture quality although not so sure here ?
What soundbar used to be included?
Great price voted hot.

I ordered mine on Sunday 29th got a call within half hour of ordering saying they waiting on new stock to come that week and I’ll receive email about deliver in the week. Arrived with sound bar on the Friday. Maybe give them a ring.
I’m looking to buy a new tv for when the new consoles come out later this year.
Would you guys recommend waiting till later on in the year?

To be honest this years TVs will do just fine. Consoles I highly doubt will actually go up to 120fps. They hardly do actual 4k atm. Plus with the Oleds getting a big update for gaming last few weeks. They have been update with G Sync. (makes everything look and run better basically). And this years models are all rdy Hdmi 2.1.

I mean by all means might as well see what they are coming out with this year. Since they will all get announced this week. But if nothing major. You would be just fine getting the B9 or the C9 if you wanted the better processor. Even the B9 got the update for G Sync.
I paid 1599 for this TV... So cold out of spite?
Hungryhorris05/01/2020 22:51

It's designed to be cheap. People talk about the processor but the real talking point is the lower grade panel.

Bro I think you're slightly mistaken. The Panasonic GZ2000 is the best oled panel on the market in terms of picture performance and brightness.

The only difference between the gz200 and every other oled is that the panel is assembled by Panasonic and not LG.
I'm going to chip in and say for those complaining about the lack of soundbar that this TV doesn't really need one, the sound is awesome.
Oled is amazing highly recommend, prices are starting to full bit before Xmas on a cracking deal... Seek and you will find.
Don't bother with PRC. Ordered C9 beginning of Dec only to find out from rude customer service I would need to wait up to 6 weeks for delivery so I cancelled the order. Then I phoned Richer Sounds, explained my experience with PRC, they price match it and gave additional £20 discount on top and delivered TV in 3 working days.
Finally!! Not much of a big one but I have to get it

I've just stopped an order for the AG8 - Had a 55X8509 LED for years and am a big Sony / AndoridTV fan, However, the AG8 is using a cheaper SoC from 2016 so Sony wont update it to AndroidTV Pie (9.0) as performance is abysmal.

Ironically the AG9 already has it (and does the higher end LEDs like the XG90/XG95), since they use a better SoC. So in essense the AG8 is a 2019 TV that has already had a "no updates" notice put on it! And the to OLED options from Sony (AG8 / AG9) are being sold with differing versions of AndroidTV
