drat ill be going today lol

Still too high price for gas but at least it is not over 130 margins. Thanks Ops

Hurrah! Will be passing one of these at the weekend so will be a good saving for me. Heat added, thank you OP!

How long is this for?

we are not in America, so we do not call it gas!

never understand why these "information" posts get hot when a full on a full tank you might save £1 (50l @ 2p/l saved)

I used to pay this for v-power a couple of years ago when the regular stuff was around £1 a litre, now the meddling government have us by the throats and 2p off looks good!!

Just about to fill up, only a few pence saved but look after the pennies.....

Brill

Tesco diesel in Chelmsford has been £1.35 for weeks now...fingers crossed they knock some pennies off that tomorrow.

How is this good? This is what they cut it to a few weeks ago?!? Oh and they were first to put up round here, and actually more expensive than sainsburys esso and same as BP

Every little helps

Stuff is rubbish blocked up my e g r valve.local Volkswagen van dealer service manager tells all customers not to use this or morrisons rubbish. Before we have the diesel is diesel mob shooting me down I worked at chevron (texacos) Pembroke refinery and yes all sorts of tankers came on site to fill up. The way a senior manager explained it to me was that it was like going into a supermarket and buying smart price beans. Yes they are beans yes they do the job. But if you pay extra for a premium brand you had more flavour and more taste. Which roughly translates as all diesel is diesel and has to reach british standards but with the established brands you are getting lean burn technology and cleaning additives hence the price diffrence. But anyway at the end of the day it's up to the individual you pay your money you take your choice.

For some reason people seem to have a deep emotional attachment to the price of fuel. For that reason non-deals like this get a lot of heat.

Just gotta push that emotional button.

Any other so-called deal that saved you all of £2 on a £60 purchase would get laughed off the site.

Our local asda has been 127.7 for a while now with sainsburys at 127.9.
An extra 1p will hardly make a difference but its better than nothing.

Is that like an EGR valve, or did the poor quality diesel knacker your electrical system?

Oh god not another 1% savings deal.

A 60p saving on a £75 fill up.

Wake up and stop being treated like mugs by these supermarkets.

thanks... flamedeer as well!

Anecdotal evidence again. If your "senior manager" has scientific evidence to back it up, fine, other wise it is just hot air.

They do this every couple of months or so.
If they didnt keep putting prices up they wouldnt have to keep dropping them (_;)

Decient

Same price as my local - my new car takes £90 to fill up so any saving is great

unleaded reduced to £5.76/gallon !
(that's one thousand, three hundred and eighty two pennies in old money)
a lot of penny toffees.

Heads Up: fuel prices will be up 2p by the end of month

Knew this would happen. They cut it by 2p a month or so ago - price rises by 2p and yet we have another 2p cut. Rip off.

when i started driving 5 litres was less than 50p well a gallon then and 10 pence in gas meter lasted 3/4 days and you could get 10 pints for a quid memories eh!

Using my 15p a litre Sainsburys voucher tomorrow, so would be great if the price had gone down as well!

What to do then? Not fill fuel? Does your car run on Water? I agree the prices are inflated, but there is no question on being treated like mugs? There is no option?

I know, people like to think ASDA, Tesco, etc have their own special petrol supply - do they think they have their own factories for every "own brand" product? Then quote things like "oh I get a million more MPG when I use Shell to fill up" - unless you are doing exactly the same journey including stop/start, same gear changes, same weight in your car, same tyre pressures, same temperature outside etc etc then there is no comparison at all.

They buy their petrol in bulk from one of the big Exxon, Total, Shell etc it comes from the very same filling tanks as the standard fuel to those same garages. The only thing that is any different is the "specialist" fuels like V-Power and the ilk that come from separate fillers at the refinery and contain various additives not in the basic fuels.

So Asda cut the price of their inferior fuels by less than 1% and people get all excited by it. Are you really going to make a journey to an Asda to save yourself less than a quid on a £70+ fillup?

If you need to fill up fair enough but dont get taken for a mug by going to Asda just because this mega price drop has been announced.

Diesel has been £133.9 at the Chiswick Esso for weeks
