Brought it when it was selling for £50 in O2. Thy sent brand new phone
I'm sure the £49 and £50 used like new where the lower spec 2018 models 16gb

No they had the 2019 model in both colours as "like new" versions recently for £49
Do these come unlocked?
Yes, I bought a couple of these as nearly new from O2 and am very pleased with them. Worth looking at the O2 website on a regular basis as the nearly new ones are listed periodically but sell out very quickly. Both of the phones I received were brand new.

I wonder whether there are surplus stocks of Huawei phones now and they are trying to offload them? The US sanctions and Google removing support might be putting people off buying Huawei - not an issue I am worried about though.

Both of mine were unlocked - I think that's pretty standard for O2.

They did both the 2018 16gb and 2019 32gb for that price at the same time so i guess you are right but wrong 😁
Thank you

My 2 silver Sony XA2 like new from o2 arrived locked and could not be unlocked by O2 in my case so sent back for a refund.
Nice thanks

Having tried both...the Huawei felt nicer to hold and felt like a slightly slimmer profile. The plastic on the Huawei also felt a bit more premium is comparison to the Samsung. The Sapphire Blue Huawei is the nicer colour in my opinion...the midnight black is a total finger print nightmare. The Blue Samsung felt a bit boring.
Samsung will likely maintain a higher resale value on the second hand market given the brand name over Huawei.
Depending on maximum budget, the Samsung A20 might be worth consideration if it's reduced on Black Friday...although I have not tried the A20

Oh that's good to know mate thanks...was considering the XA2 when it was in stock and may have pulled the trigger if it came back in stock...but if it's locked then I won't go for it

It's ok,not going to win any awards though, I had the phone briefly, got it from 02 £49 like new as i wanted to see what emui was like, it's good for the price, you won't be taking photos of the kids/pets running about indoors but you'll be fine for photos in decent light as long as the subject isn't moving too quickly if that makes sense.
