Thanks for the heads up.

I assume you can only spend in Sainsbury's and not somewhere like ebay.

Great work PIC, thank you for putting all this together

Great deal chichi, I spent all mine at Christmas, just shows it always pays to keep some in reserve X)

Thanks for the info.

If it's the same as at Christmas, means I can get a £40 voucher for £20 in points, let's hope something decent is out that week on Xbox One

Excellent thread...Thank you so much.

500 points = £2.50

So you can only double up max £20?

That's gonna be useless if you are looking at a TV & have £100 worth of points

Thanks for the work on this post- I'm gonna try stacking the grocery codes and create a new Sainsburys account :-)

You can spend you points on eBay if you link your nectar card to your eBay account... Then check how much points you have for every 500 points you get £2.50 so the more points the more money. You can convert the points to use on eBay for any purchase you wish. You can choose the amount of points you wish to redeem to, there is a threshold though. Then when making a purchase you will be prompted if you would like to use you redeemed points.

Is "card insurance" a typo? Should it read "car insurance"?

I voted cold as nectar points are crap compared to others and it went up 5c...

Thanks I know you can spend points on ebay but was wondering if the double up promotion works with ebay too or only Sainsbury's.

There was nothing in the email that confirmed the minimum and maximum, assume this detail will be confirmed nearer the event - although in the terms and conditions states

Minimum and maximum Nectar exchange values apply.

yes - fixed - ta

Never knew about Hive - sounds great - thanks

Hopefully some good deals will come up at the time!

i thought the 1000 points from confused.com stopped last year (maybe year before) i used to get 1000's from this little earner doing ours and her parents insurances through them every year until it stopped

they've included entertainment this time round with a pic of a gamepad? last time gaming was excluded

Thanks

Last time this was on. I popped out of my office at lunchtime to convert my points into vouchers at the nearby sainsburys in town. But there was a problem because I'd never used my nectar card to that store before. I spent an hour stood at the customer service desk because they had debited my points but couldn't issue the voucher!

Given up on Nectar now. It was always the worst of the loyalty schemes in terms of earning potential - spend £250 and get £2.50 back (1% cashback effectively). But with the upcoming changes to earnign rates, it's now spend £500 and get £2.50 back (0.5% cashback).

It's not worth the hassle of carrying my card around anymore. Rather shop at Tesco and Waitrose - with the various promotions they end up cheaper than Sainsbury's and Nectar.

great

Great post thanks OP

Any big game launches around this time?

The good thing about Nectar is that the points don't expire, providing you use your card once every 12 months. Tesco Points expire if so you can't save them up over several years.

I did it last time the frozen was in the offer, it was so easy to do & great getting £40 worth of shopping for nothing

Cheers, it's not the best rewards scheme but it was the first, and I have about £20 of Nectar points accumulated so will double them up on something. I don't attempt to collect them like Tesco ones, but I do acquire them naturally with shopping in Sainsbury's sometimes

thanks op. I got an ex display Tassimo for 1.60 at the last double up event

That Hive thing is pretty cool. Have a lot of points so why not get some interest on them.

I wonder if there is a limit to the amount you can double up. I've got almost 70,000 points..
