Heathrow Express - free upgrade to first class!

Found 9th Mar 2010Made hot 9th Mar 2010
Pre-emptive strike:

1) Yes I know Heathrow Express is a rip off!
2) Yes I know the journey is only 15 minutes
3) No, I don't know what extras you can get with first class.

But I hope some people may find this useful. Just click on the link, fill in your details and hey presto, you get a code which you can use to upgrade your standard tickets to first class.

I am going on a business trip so will be taking advantage of this offer. Hope it helps anyone else out there.

Cheers!

the journey is a rip off.

its a deal, and i think its a decent one if your going on the express anyway and now free first class upgrade is good !

HEAT

take the alternative heathrow connect, it's half the price with just a few stops on the way.

first class might put you in the right mood for the queues and hassle at heathrow though, voted hot

its a greast service though not sure if its worth the £25 quid or so it was last time i travelled

£15 from Paddington to Heathrow but takes 15 mins.

Heathrow Connect takes 30-45 mins. and is a slow train and frequency is appalling. ( Telling from experience )

Plus, both are crap when you get to Heathrow station. You have to walk a lot and get on many escalators which go on forever before you are in the Terminal.

Best is Piccadilly line, is of a decent speed and is right next to the Terminal! Much cheaper as well.

Going to london on Sunday for business so will take advantage of this offer - Thanks

It's not worth £25. But it is aimed at business travellers, and if work is paying, it is very convenient.

If you measure £ vs mile apparently Heathrow Express is one of the most expensive trains in the world!

I'll use this, thanks.

Heathrow connect all the time, express just means u get to the queue at the airport quicker. Maybe this deal is aimed at MP's after the lose their right to travel first class. Sorry but this offer is ridiculous!

rip off britain, even after discount.

Do the math. I reckon the Heathrow Express speed is well worth the cash. But if you book online, check your ticket date. I once purchased for 11th September, and got ticket for 9th November.

This high priced train runs half empty most of the times. I guess this free first upgrade is just to remove some dust from those first class seats that have had no bums on them for years :))

11/9 9/11

I'm not sure, tempted to say that the mistake might not have been with Heathrow Express...!

If there are MPs there, I'll take the other one.

Is it for BA flight ticket holders only? Seems to suggest so, especially with the please enter your flight details bit?

Piccadilly Line made me rage the other day when I went to pick up my bf from the airport. Basically he had already arrived and was waiting for me at the station, so I went up the escalator and he told me not to go outside the gates to avoid paying as no point he was coming in. So then I walked around this internal barrier to get to the downward escalator (the staff had erected those barriers similar to when you have queues), and then he demanded that i go outside the gate as I had already travelled to the airport!

Sorry but if you were going to erect a system like this then build the barriers right at the escalator not some fake barrier and a rude staff standing there. He accused me not having a ticket when I told him I had a travelcard, all this for a measley £2.50 extra on my journey. If I raged anymore I would've just run right back down the upwards escalator, backwards!

If someone happened to travel to Terminal 1-3 by accident and needed to get to terminal 4, I bet they will make him get out the gate before letting them go back down to the trains too!

It seems this offer works for outbound BA travelers only. I was coming to UK and tried to use the offer to buy 2 Heathrow Express return tickets. It seemed to work, but in the end it did not. Paid full rate and no upgrade :x. There was no warnings that it would not work so I felt being tricked.

The service itself was good, but way too expensive and it is bad customer service not to warn that the entered promotion code was not applicable.

For my next visit, I will carefully consider alternatives.
