Been looking for a knife set for moving into my own place. Seen these other day and now on Prime Day. Good reviews and look a smart, decent set.

20 quid full price so can't be up to much but more than half price is decent
I've had two sets of Hecefs and in both sets the blades of the smaller knives came adrift from the handles.

Ye I get that, but I believe in "You get what you pay for" so not expecting anything huge from these but the reviews seem promising and for under £10 then worth a try.
Looks like cheap tat. I'd recommend picking up a decent knife that you'll use from somewhere like tkmax where you can hold it and see how it feels in your hands - there's some decent deals to be had
Cheap knives are a false economy. Look after it and a decent knife will last you a life time so its worth investing
Would be nice if they came in a matching block

Whilst I mostly agree, I have a set of kitchen devils that I've been butchering with one of those anysharp things for about 10 years now that are still sharp as hell

I still use a better utility knife most of the time though.

how do you keep them sharp? my 8 1/4" is 25 years old ish, but getting 1 knife professionally sharpened isnt worthwhile (?) so no idea what to do with it.
Getting sick of seeing only Amazon deals now even worst with prime exclusive prices. Should change the site name to Amazon deals
What is the second picture on about?

The anysharp is a knife sharpener that literally scrapes metal off to get an edge, it works but ruins good knives. Cheap ones though who cares!

You may be right but while on our way to Disney Paris we stopped in a French supermarket and bought some food to eat on the side of the road and we bought this €1.69 cheap knife with a plastic handle to cut the bread and food. That was 2 years ago, and it's probably the best knife we ever had, still as sharp as when we bought it, i have not done anything to the blade so far, ideal to cut vegetables and fruits into small pieces. If i have known, i would have bought half a dozen of them
I miss the Jean Patrique knife 'deals'.
