Seems a decent deal for 5% Beer at 1.67ltr, I know it's now brewed in the UK so not as tasty as when it was brewed in the Netherlands but still a decent deal, enjoy

Thats a very good price. Some supermarkets were knocking them out for £10 a 15 can crate but that was at least a year and a half ago.

Yeah bought some back then, I'm a bit of a beer hunter, if it's 5% and well under 2 quid a litre then I'm in, shame they weakened Becks to 4% as that used to be my favourite, now it tastes like p..s, Asda do some good Pilsner ones around this price so I usually get those but I do like a bit of cold Heineken ;-)

Agreed! When a 5%'er, especially Heineken is going for a price like this, i tend to stock up. Before one Christmas i had 180 cans of the stuff in the garage

Both pish water, terrible beers, you can't compare those to Heineken, Carling also got found out that their ABV% was well below advertised a few years back but they got away with it saying it was within spec, notice on the Tesco one they don't state the strength hmmm funny that and Carlsberg is 3.8% pish.

What's pish?
Its brewed in both UK and Netherlands according to my packaging.
Since all the lockdown Heineken has been brewed in Holland for bottles, not sure on cans but the packaging says it on the bottles.
Worth the check
Much better taste with the Holland tasting beer.
The 500ml cans were brewed in Holland as well but can never find them any more.

I know, like comparing Rolex to Timex lol
Excellent price for this lager, would give you heat just for the fact you put the price per litre in the description

Please don’t compare 4% lager to 5% lager

What???
They are hardly alternatives.
Heineken is a premium lager, Fosters and Carlsberg are not.

If you get 4% lol, Carlsberg is 3.8, Carling is not even marketed as 4% any more as it's weaker and proved to be, they even admitted it.

1. What is not pish will soon be pish once you drink it.
2. Lager making process and costs are all the same across Western Europe. You only pay a premium for the bottle and the label.
3. Your liver doesnt give a damn about what brand you are drinking or how it tastes.

I’ve noticed a few lagers that have had there abv reduced, I’m sure Stella used to be 5.1% and Budweiser was 5% once upon a time

Think Stella was 5.2% at one point, now 4.8%, think the 0.4% was the 'wifebeater; they took out ;-)

No but my pallette does and you have to drink less of it to get pished more quickly, bonus ;-)

I have been pondering this and came to this conclusion using Steak as an analogy.

Cheap minute steaks and rib eye both come from a cow, some cows are bred for better meat and some breeds are better than others.

The ingredients and time make a difference, a minute steak and rib eye comes out the backside the same but one is a hell of a lot more tastier than another, hence you pay more, it takes time to rear a bred cow and age the meat.

Same with beer, better ingredients, longer brewing process to turn more sugar into alcohol etc etc.

If you want to drink Beer just for the end result then do it cheaply and drink a load of urine tasting Beer for cheap, some like to taste a Beer and get bladdered while enjoying the taste, plus you have to drink a lot more weak Beer for the same effect so the price is offset, I drank a full case of 18 Fosters once and didn't even feel drunk, tipsy yes, drink 18 Heiny's and you'll be in A n E.

Go out and grab yourself 16 x 330ml Champigneulles Continental Lager from Asda at 5.5% for a tenner, 1.95ltr, brewed in France, stuff is lethal, I drank 4x330ml and starting to get the warm face feeling and I can handle my Beer, suitable for Veggies as well so a win/win.

So yeah I drink Beer and like my Steak so I'm a knuckle dragging bloke but I also like taste and strength.

groceries.asda.com/pro…820

I also recommend these at 4.5% for 1.54ltr, odd one these but they do the job and have some hop taste to them, they are brewed under German brewing law Reinheitsgebot but country of origin is France, although website is German, assume brewed in France under license but blow most of the UK brewed beers away, my current favourite but you can only buy 24 at a time!

Really?
Also this pack is now £12 in Tesco. I have found that at least one of the big supermarkets always has the 15 can pack on offer for £12, which is great. something like 1.82 per litre.

I remember once there was an offer on these 2 for £20, so I used to jump on a bus to my nearest Asda, buy 4 cases of this, and somehow lug 60 cans back onto the bus home (before the 1 hour mark so both bus journeys cost the same as 1- London thing) and then quarter mile back to my house using a festival backpack and multiple strong bags for life. I'd come back a hot, sweaty, knackered mess but it was all worth it for the cheap grog.
