This has been available overseas for a for a few years now but I just got an email to say its now officially available in the uk. The deal they have just now is....

2x Desperados TORP

1x THE SUB Heineken Edition

2x Birra Moretti TORP

2x Affligem TORP

2x Heineken TORP

For £169 including delivery instead of £234.92

The little beer kegs (that they call torps) are only 2 litres and at £7.49 each it does mean you are around £2 a pint, which yes i know, its pricey. But its cheaper than a pint at the pub and from the sales blurb on this unit it pours perfect pints like you'd get in your local. If you cant think of what to get someone for Christmas who is difficult to choose for, this could be the answer.

I can only imagine the look on my wife's face if I got one of these, not worth the fireworks, great product!

Heat from me.

It's not something I'd buy but 2 quid a pint and a pub at home vibe... superb...

Seems a good idea as 2l is not so big as to cause a lot of waste.
I'm a bit reluctant beacause if it's not successful it may be withdrawn from the UK and torps will need to be imported.
Heat added

Got one of these, better than those 5kg kegs that foam up but not like a pub pint - ok though

Heat, sounds & looks LUSH!

works out OK for a pint of desparados. Not sure I can justify the outlay, however.

just got a flamedeer....

2 litres ! You'd be changing them every 10 mins.

Thank you Flamedeer

10 minutes? How slow do you drink?

Small range of beers as well!

These sort of thing seem to be more successful in other countries, the pop up in the UK now and again but never really seem to take off

Isn't it more like 2.50 a pint. And t that price a pint in wetherspoons is probably cheaper than drinking at home.

I have this.

Imported from Amazon France last Christmas.

Had to order the beer from Holland, could only get Heineken.

Lushest 20 plus pints I've ever had, not the cheapest however.

Got wind of the UK release earlier, have already smashed a Desperados order in.

This is welcome news for me BUT there are better keg systems out there https://www.saveur-biere.com/en/5-beer-dispensers

I'm keeping my betamax going as long as possible.

Tried refilling a torp, was an epic fail tbh.

Actually, if you want to be accurate you should consider how long you will bother with this gimmick and spread the £169 cost across the five times you use it over the next five years X)

Considering the amount of duty leveled on it, beer is pretty cheap in UK supermarkets. Asking people to buy equipment and then pay £3.75/litre when they can pick up the same beer, without the initial outlay, for <£2/litre is a difficult sell.

Plus, we love a good pint. These kegs contain less than four. Maybe more compatible with the continent, where 33cl is a more normal measure (12 drinks per keg doesn't seem so bad).

Jesus. Lager pish tastes the same from a can.

All that money and you're not even pouring a real ale!

Agreed buying cans you talking 70p - £1 depending on your choice of beer. And you won't have a expensive useless bit of technology you don't/can't use in your house because they have stopped selling the kegs for it

I loved my father-in-laws 'keggerator' when I was visiting the states earlier this year. it held 5ltr kegs and chilled in a slightly more fridge style container, the beer & lager could be purchased anywhere selling the standard 5ltr kegs (walmart/ingles etc) so was really good.
This Sub version is the 1st I've seen in the uk and for that is a definite HOT....
But unless I can find other makes of beer and lager I won't be buying...
Awesome find OP!!

Memories of the Guinness surgemaster from Christmas past have begun to surface. Coming torp a car boot sale near you in a year or two.

If you get the black unbranded version for £119, this only saves you £6, but a very interesting present for a beer fan!

Black one is plastic. Heineken one is aluminium so bit better finish.

I think you need to give beerhawk.co.uk a visit. This is not the first home beer dispenser to git the UK.

You need a Philips PerfectDraft in your life by the sounds of things.

I have 2 in the house, always loaded with Hoegaarden and Leffe.

You might be right, however I liked the look of the more generic, take any keg style machines.

As my local Iceland sell kegs of consider them my only supply though, not unless anyone what knows of other kegs priced at 15 quid for five litres?

I know I bought a turkey with the Heineken Sub but I've already outlayed fur the hardware now and it's had minimal use.

likey likey!

Forget this rubbish, True TDD1 is the only thing worth having at home and you can put in whatever keg you like!
50 litre keg will be fresh for at least 6 weeks!
But you will drink more as it tastes so good.

You can't compare pasteurised canned beer to the fresh unpasteurised beer that comes out the heineken sub

What do you do with the empty torps? is it another plastic garbage?

Asked them if they were bringing our a prossecco torp and no was the answer - me thinks they are missing out on a huge market, my other half drinks my cruz campo and a prossecco torp would solve that issue !!

im thinking of buying this, however the link on groupon takens me to the Heneken page and it says its sold out... The groupon deal is still available for a while - is it worth buying and waiting to see if it comes back in stock?.. thanks
