Sainsburys have a Helium Balloon Kit - Canister & Baloons box kit for £20. Doesnt seem to be reduced, but I know these are dearer as I paid £28 in Costco for the same (for one of those flying sharks!). Seen In Sainsburys Canley Cov.

eeek!
No.

What do you get with this kit ie. is it just the helium or do you get the balloons and, if so, how many?

It certainly can - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-11795984

I can't believe they sell this stuff knowing the risks.

I speak from experience.
Our daughter was 14 , about 16 years ago when she tried this.
Her lips turned purple, her face went white and she was in a very distressed state.
Luckily she recovered but we all had such a fright.
Previously, I had done this with no problems and I know people who also had no probs but we will NEVER play that game again!

If I go in tomorrow I'll have a look, but I *think* it was a selection of 45 odd standard balloons and a few foil ones.

Thanks...

We usually get ours from Asda (prior to that from Costco, which I think was a bigger bottle and included string and a small weight). Last one we got in Feb I think was £18 from Asda. We also get some latex baloons because they last longer then the ones that came with kit which deflated very quickly.

Fortunately haven't had any problems using the kit.

ASDA have reduced theirs to £20 also.

A bit of information for anyone buying one...
There are 3 sizes of disposable helium cylinders:
30 balloon
40 balloon
50 balloon

This is based on inflating a 9" balloon. Any latex balloons that come with them are usually 9"
9" balloons will only float for 6-9 hours ( closer to 6 with the cheap quality balloons supplied). If you are doing balloons for anything important ( wedding christening etc) , then throw the included balloons away and buy some 11" helium quality latex.

The regular balloon size is 11" and the cylinders will fill only half the stated number if you inflate to this size. But 11" latex will float for 12-18 hours.
THE LATEX BALLOONS MUST BE INFLATED ON THE DAY THEY ARE NEEDED . IF YOU INFLATE THEM THE DAY BEFORE THEY WILL BE ON THE FLOOR THE FOLLOWING DAY.

If you want/need your balloons to float for longer then buy foil balloons - these can last about a week ( longer if they are bigger than the regular 18" size).
