Sorry, but I think this is a terrible waste of time and resources, COLD.

Totally unfair to have a business set up printing equipment etc. just to obtain a free piece of chocolate.
Looks like a small family business that might buckle under free requests... giving it a miss ... if it was Cadburys or Lindt I'd be all over it as they could back up potential demand

I thought I would share as my friend is planning her wedding early next year and these seemed a good idea
Not a fan of taking advantage of small businesses offering these kinda of things.

If you're genuinely shopping around and want a sample, sure, but not if you're just after a few pieces of chocolate for free.

That's totally fair enough, just a shame that some people won't use the offer for the right reasons.

Fair point. If it was a big company I too would take up the offer. I'll give it a miss this time (although I do like nice choccies!).
Not voting this time, OP
If the business will have enough samples to cater the demand of so many people, it will surely do. Otherwise, they will simply send an email explaining they have run out of samples. Or simply wont send out any. Just like many businesses do. Not a big deal. This is their way of promoting their business. So, there isn't anything bad about it.

Well said!

People need to think of the consequences to a small business on this type of offer.

Only apply if you are genuinely going to purchase from them over and over. Please don't burden them with debt!

The items are personalised, so it's not simply a case of they have a box full of them to give away. How can they know who is genuine and who is just sponging from them?

Well my friend this is what marketing is all about. How many of us end up buying stuff after trying samples. Some do, some don't. That's all a marketing tactics and a part of business promotion.

Thanks, I know how it works, but in this instance, the business will probably be investing £5+ with printing and posting costs included, so some scabhounds can get 14p worth of chocolate free - it's criminal for anyone to apply for it unless they have genuine intentions.
Thankyou,heat given(y)

How is it right to judge if people have good intentions or not ? Based on what ? I posted the deal with good intentions , as plenty will find it a good way to promote a company or personalise favours for a wedding

People go crazy for free food/drinks on here, those people wouldn't think twice about taking advantage of something like this. Here's a recent example;
