J.A. Henckels
Founded in 1731 Zwilling J.A. Henckels have been manufacturing quality knives in Solingen, Germany for over 275 years. Over the years they have developed the Friodur ice hardening process which results in extremely strong, flexible steel with a very good corrosion resistance. The manufacturing process also allows the blades to be thin which reduces the resistance when cutting theough meat and vegetables etc. While Henckels still manufacture the Henckels brand in Solingen they have also developed a manufacturing base near Shanghai in China where the Henckels International Brand is manufactured. Hence with Henckels International you enjoy the benefits of Henckels expertise, production techniques and quality control coupled with the economies of Chinese production.

Not voted either way as it seems they have been this price for a while as one of the reviews for the knifes posted in 2005 and had them a year already said they paid this price....so not sure where the previous price of £199 comes from , have they ever been this price?

Looks hot to me, even if these aren't the more expensive Henckels. Voted hot.

Was at the BBC Good Food show over the weekend and was impressed with the Henckle stand, really like the feel of the proffesional 's' range and five star!
But then walking around stumbled across the amazon.co.uk stand which I'm glad I did as they had these knives on a small display. I was shocked of the feel of these :w00t: ... they were half the weight and didnt feel anything like the 'proper' Henckles! To be honest if I had come accross these I would have thought they were fake copies as they just aren' t in the same league!
But at £49 you couldnt complain I suppose, but if like me you were thinking these were good knives at a good price then you will be dissapointed!

Only trouble is now I'm still looking for a good set
I did like the I.O Shen range .. also the Tojiro Senkou .. but these are alot more money  ...
