hot for 4k

As most 4K I s protected by HDCP2.2 I doubt this will work as people think it wil.

4K at 60fps will require HDMI 2.0 at least, but for just watching non hdr films at 4K it'll be fine

If it hdmi 2.0, I would have bought. Hdmi 1.4 is finished.

I have a very similar one to this and noticed that it strips out the hdcp×.2 and allows me to play 4k through my Sony str-dn850 amp.
Not sure if this does the same, but well worth the money if it does and you have a non-hdcp2.2 4k amp.

Saying as it only supports upto HDCP 1.3 I would doubt it would.

I don't know how it works but i suspect the fact mine doesn't support hdcp2.2 is the reason it splits it out........having said that, i also think that is the reason they stopped selling mine at amazon.
It could also be that it's taking the hdcp handshake from the tv and allowing the 4k signal to output to the amp????? No idea, but its saved me upgrading my amp for now.
No idea if this will work the same though, so would be trial and error if you bought it.

Are you sure the content you are playing is HDCP2.2 what is the source?

The fact that it is HDMI 1.4 means that it's never going to support full fat 4K.

So is no different than something like this at £6.37

Does that spit it to display to two TVs at the same time? The Ops one suggests that's what it does, whereas the eBay one seems to just split it to one or the other, not at the same time? I'm looking at one of these (non 4K needed) so curious cheers

I made an offer for £5 on an identical one on eBay. Think it was listed at £9. It was accepted and it works great. Now have video over ip from the lounge to the bedroom.

They both do both things.

The Ebay listing description it states:

HDMI Bi-Directional Switch with HDCP Passthrough allows you to connect two high-definition HDMI sources like Blu-ray pr PS4 to a single HDMI display. It also allows you to output single high-definition source to two displays.

So both are the same kind of box.

If anyone can find one that also supports ARC then I'm in!
