heat bargain at this price
Just called a local branch to ask if they had any in stock and at this price? Chap on the phone told me to try visiting the website, to which I asked him if he'd ever tried finding anything on the Asda website? He said it never seems to work for him! What makes you think it'll work for me? I said and that's where the conversation ended.:(

What are tender hooks? I've heard of tenterhooks.
Half price and half the power compared to before the EU energy labels. 500w compared to 1000w. Seems Numatic want to screw their customers.

Check the power of the motor - should be either 1200 watt or 1400 watt, they are and were the decent of these kinds of hoovers, but think they reduced the size since the new ridiculous law came into effect.
If the motor power is much lower then £50 is a more reasonable price to pay than the £100 ish that is commonplace.

Go and read the reviews of the new lower wattage ones. Majority feel they still have the same suction power.

It's not ridiculous or unreasonable at all to push companies to work on more efficient vacuum cleaners. I'm pretty sure the whole Dyson range was already compliant when the law came in so it's not far fetched.

FWIW I have the old Henry and as much as I love it and rave about how good it is, it generates a fair amount of heat which is totally wasted energy.

I'm no tree-hugger but look at the engines that cars had 20 years ago compared to today's engines. Isn't progress with energy efficiency perhaps just a little bit of a good thing?

Half the wattage does not equate to half the suction power, which is the most important thing.
