Saw this at Richer Sounds yesterday and it sounded good. It was £100.00 cheaper than the next cheapest shop or ebay. Purchased it online and they gave me 6 years free guarantee with it too and free delivery

Much more than just a soundbar, the HEOS HomeCinema is part of the complete HEOS multi-room system, giving you sound all around your home

Much more than just a soundbar, the HEOS HomeCinema is part of the complete HEOS multi-room system, giving you sound all around your home

HEOS sound for your TV
Packing in stereo soft dome tweeters, Kevlar-coned woofers and a 4-channel, Class-D amplifier, the HEOS HomeCinema sounds superb. Whether you're being pinned to your seat by an all-action movie or enjoying the subtler sounds of music, the HEOS is able to cope with it all. What's more, exclusive Virtual Surround processing delivers an immersive sound experience without the need for rear speakers.

Wireless subwoofer for added drama
With a wireless subwoofer at the ready the HEOS HomeCinema is never short of welly. For explosive scenes or dynamic music the sub drives the sound along, delivering a deep, rich bass response that's powerful enough to make it feel like you're 'there'. For even deeper bass, Dynamic Bass Boast emphasises the bass still further and is ideal for use at lower volumes when the audio can lose some impact.

Dolby Digital and DTS decoding
Featuring Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS decoding, the HomeCinema is fully equipped for most movie soundtracks. Working in conjunction with a powerful 400MHz, 32-bit processor, the surround sound tracks are skilfully blended for an accurate yet spacious sound form just a single soundbar.

Wireless sound around your home
All HEOS (by Denon) music systems connect together by dual-band Wi-Fi, making them easy to set up with your existing home network. Up to 32 HEOS units can be set up at one time, ensuring even the largest of homes are covered for multi-room music. Prefer a wired connection? Then you can make use of the Ethernet socket that's standard on all HEOS speaker systems.

Effortless control from your smartphone or tablet
Once you've set up the HEOS systems, controlling them is simple with the free HEOS app. This user-friendly app uses three main tabs that feature at all times - Rooms, Music and Now Playing. Rooms allows individual control of the music being played in a particular room. The Music tab selects the streaming music service or stored music either on your device or a remote device connected via the DLNA network. This means you should be able to access pretty much all the digitally stored music available in your home. Now playing gives you artist, title and track timer information plus lets you control the master volume and also view the music queue.

Endlessly compatible
A great benefit of choosing the HEOS system is its class-leading compatibility. In terms of music streaming services, it's compatible with Spotify Connect, Rhapsody, Pandora, TuneIn and other services offering DRM-free tracks. Supported music files include MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC and WAV, making it compatible with just about all stored music libraries.

Flexible connections including HDMI
When it comes to connecting up your TV, HEOS has got every option covered. For the best quality sound and vision use HDMI. The HDMI socket also has ARC (Audio Return Channel) meaning just one cable carries the source's picture to the TV and the TV's sound back again. If you'd prefer a different connection, both optical and coaxial digital inputs are also standard. If your TV doesn't have any of these you still may be in luck with the analogue input. This accepts a signal from your TV's headphone output.

Superb sound from your TV and seamless multi-room sound - the HEOS HomeCinema is the complete entertainer.

I understand this brand is owned by Denon, but that Denon may not be the same as it used to be back in the day.
Question is - is the quality still representative of the old Denon name, or has it 'done a Toshiba'?

Yeah, I wondered the same but based on yesterday's testing it really sounded good and with the 6 year guarantee I feel reasonable protected against any inferior build quality...
We’ve got one. The sound is very good. We moved from a 5.1 Onkyo system to this. Can play music from my phone over the WiFi too. Set up was an absolute nightmare for us.
I bought one of these about 6 weeks ago from RS for £269 which I thought was good value, great at this price. Great sound from all sources, currently connected to my Hisense TV using HDMI ARC which works well. HEOS control uses your home network connected by wifi or ethernet which may not suit everybody, I use my android tablet to control it Agree with fry1179 setup can be challenging, for setting up I would advise using hard wired ethernet connection then switching to wifi when it' s up and running.

Does your Hisense TV remote control work with this to control Volume?

Does your Hisense TV remote control work with this to control Volume?

Simple answer, yes!
My dad's got a HEOS, he went out to buy a Sonos but he was so impressed with the sound quality he bought this the HEOS instead (not this one, he bought the HEOS 5). I must say its impressive, it can play from more sources from what I gather, anything that plays through Bluetooth will play through this. Nice bit of kit but not as well known as the sonos but (according to my dad) better sounds quality.

The bloke in the shop said Denon make hifi gear and have got years of experience in the field, Sonos make electronic equipment and they're relatively new. Not sure if I agree with this statement but Denon do make good hifis.
Thanks OP, just purchased.
I bought this at Christmas from richer sounds at £269, and I am very happy with the sound and the quality. The Sound is equally impressive both watching tv and playing music, The setup was quite easy, plug in aux cable to your phone and it automatically connects to your network, it does not have bluetooth but you can buy a small usb dongle that plugs into the back to overcome that if needed, I was told by denon to make sure it has a BCM20702 chipset. I however connected my apple tv via optical and can play my music that way. You can also add other heos speakers to make it a multi room system, all easily controlled by the app. This was their first soundbar that was in direct competition with sonos playbar, but for the same money Heos gave you a subwoofer too whilst you had to purchase the sonos sub seperately. Heos have now followed suit and brought out a new iteration which is sold separately at easily over £1000 for both bar and sub, so that should give you an indication of what a good deal this is for £249, and the 6 year warranty is just gravy.
