Heritage Open Days are Back - Free entry 9-12th September

Free entry to loads of National Trust, English Heritage & many other locations.

Last year I went to Tonbridge Castle where a medieval market was taking place with knights etc - great. I've also heard that a visit to Bisley is worth it but you have to pre-register if you want to shoot there.

Check out the website but as location registration takes place right up to 1st August, some locations are not on there yet so need to be rechecked in a couple of weeks time.

thanks, been wanting to go to the back to back houses in Birmingham so this will be great.

Do you have to register if you simply want to visit a heritage site during the open days? Sorry, bit unclear from the website.

No, it's only some places that need registering as they might either be by appointed times or limited numbers. Most of them you just turn up. Each individual place should have full details on the website. Some places are open all weekend while others are either the Sat or Sun.

thanks
