no wonder blu-ray is struggling to take off when distributors try to continually rip us off for what is effectively 6 disks.

it may be a relative hot deal but i refuse to pay more than £10 for a top film or £20 for a boxset, especially when they have been aired on tv.

tis a good deal in comparison, but still a tad expensive.

Giving the running time this would work out at £2.40 per hour, that is just absurd, I for one will never pay more than £1.99 for an hours entertainment even if it is in 1080p.

For the record though Blu-Ray isn't struggling, it has a better pick up rate than DVD had in the same time frame (for those early adopters that can remember when DVD players were £500+ and warner were releasing discs like Titanic at £26.99)

hell I used to spend £100+ for a single film on Laserdisc so as far as I can tell this is a pretty good deal (as it is cheaper than any other retailer, and surely that is the point).

fair comment but now we have all seen how dvd prices fell and we got stung badly. I wont let that happen to me again and I suspect many others wont either.

The good news is that Warner Brothers has announced that by the end of the year it will be cutting the recommended retail price of Blu-Ray in the U.S. to $24.99 (rrp at the moment is $39.99) for new release titles, so if the other companies follow suit then the average price of a new release in this country should fall to around £15 by the start of next year which should soften the blow a bit.

It is a good price for bluray, but still way more than i would pay for two series! And they wonder why piracy is so big, make it cheaper instead of being so greedy and they will get a massive increase in sales imo!
