Nice little speakers for the money

I brought it few days ago for 9.99. The worst speakers I ever have. waste of money even for 5.99. NOT vote

Bought these a while ago when they were a tenner. Perfectly respectable little speakers, quite weighty too.

The online description is slightly misleading. They connect to a mini-jack audio out port AND USB, for power. So if you use headphones with your desktop/laptop, you'll have to disconnect those and plug these in instead.

Sounds like a bargain to me given the reviews on Amazon...

Got a set of these from Asda last year, pretty good for the price. Definitely wouldn't say they were rubbish

I got these from Sainsburys when they were half price 9.99
I was prepared to take them back if disappointed.
Great price for USB powered speakers and surprisingly good sound.

However the OP description is wrong they're not 5.1 but as per the link 2.0

depending on your set up , if you connect these and then plug in headphones to your desktop , specially via a front panel connection, the speakers should automatically cut.

Bought them for 9.99 a few months back. Very good and very loud. Can't moan for the price they're asking

I have these, they have no volume control on the speakers so you have to use the control on the computer to adjust the volume.

Would these work in my expensive macbook or only in HP laptops?

COLD

I hate music and don't want my kids to listen to music.

Anything that helps hear music is bad.

Simples

Scanning at £9.99 at my local Sainsburys.

Just got these and I think I must of got a duff pair, plugged them in and chose the line out option and the sound still comes through the laptop speakers.
Have I done something wrong or do I need to take them back?

Nothing wrong with the speakers as they worked fine when i tried them in another laptop, must be a fault with both usb ports as there isn't any power getting through to the speakers. Now that i've listened to them they are well woth the money as the sound quality isn't to bad at all

I've just seen them at my local for 9.99 (same as online)
I doubt 5.99 is a nation wide offer.

Will work with all PCs regardless of brand.
Dunno bout macs, should do, if not just take it back.

Ugh. Speakers like these made sense back in the 90s, back in the days before the multimedia revolution. Nowadays though, for all the video, videogames, music and everything else you use your PC for, why have something so bad? You deserve better.

Still £9.99 at my local too. Got it scanned just in case

Great little speakers, recommended and HOT.

because it's not "so bad"
Not everyone needs a full blown speaker system. We're not all deaf.

Using a PC for something like films music and games made sense back in the 2000's before the advent of affordable, 42 inch flat panel TVs and good quality high-powered surround hifi systems. Nowadays, why use something so bad as a PC? You deserve better. (_;)

I'm sure these speakers are just fine for browsing the internet, sending emails and writing office documents, which is what most people in my experience are doing with their PCs.
